tweeter whistles with rpm of engine?

hey guys, my front drivers side tweeter has a high pitch whistle that follows the rpms of the engine. its a 96 gt with the mach 460. i removed it and put a known good one in its place and still have the whistle. it only does this when the engine is on, and no its not the supercharger im thinking it could be my new alarm i had installed last summer, the sound had started that fall. other than that i have no idea, id like to find something to wrap the speaker's wires with to rule out interference. any thoughts? thanks guys

Cant wrap them with anything, it has to do with the amp if you have one. Or its the wiring used, get some non-interference wires. I'm guessing the MAch 460 is the factory radio??

the head unit is a 4-5 year old pioneer cd deck. i never thought of the amp, i can swap the passenger one with the drivers one and see if that does it. thanks

Try a noise suppressor. Sometimes the alternator noise will bleed through the system.

I'd put money on the head unit being the problem. Pioneer's are know for developing this problem. Especially if you have removed the stereo without disconnecting the power.

Sounds like a bad ground on the head unit (or amp).

it was the head unit, no more obnoxious whistle. i do however still have a low annoying hiss comming from both speakers, even with the volume turned all the way down. not sure whats causing that?

pioneers have a known pico fuse issue. when they blow you get really bad feedback or alternator whine. you can either ground the outputs on your cd player or try and get a ground loop isolator but those generally dont turn out too good.
