Won't start/helping a friend/FRUSTRATED!

This is a 1981 old-old lady's 2.3 4-speed Mustang ghia.

I got myself into a bind by offering to tune it up for her. The problem I've run into is I pulled the distributor because a mechanic had ruined the distributor cap bolt threads and broke one of the screws off. I reinstalled it with the new cap and rotor; the car initially started and died. It's getting spark, but dosn't seem to be getting fuel through the carb?

I did install the new fuel filter but even with 'ether' it won't catch. Plugs stay dry. From using this site's 'search functions' I've possibly come up with an ignition module or Duraspark?? I believe this carb'd system is the duraspark 2?

PLEASE! I need to get the old woman back home!!!! Help!!
Thanks, Nitro

If the plugs are dry after cranking it's not getting fuel, and you need to find out why.
