67 mustang coupe vinyl top

hey guys I'm very new here and looking to join the mustang family,
i am in the process of helping restore a 68 firebird and looking for my own project. i recently found a 67 mustang coupe vinyl top with a 302 for 2600dlls and wanted to asked if it is a good buy?, the car doesn't run because the tranny doesn't work and the owner wont tell me anything more until i see the car myself. i found it strange that the car is so cheap with a running 302

Take a look at it yourself and give it a thorough inspection. Post back after you've seen it. Take some pictures of the car and also get some of the under carriage. If the car is not completely rusted out then that is a good price if the 302 is in good shape.

Bring a magnet, screwdriver or icepick, and a camera.

Use the magnet to check the body panels for Bondo. If the magnet doesn't stick then there has been body work done there.

(read this in a restorers guide) Use the screwdriver or icepick and poke it through the rug. If it hits metal you're somewhat safe. If it keeps going then the floor panels are shot and need replacing.

The camera is for taking pictures so we can see the car. That way you don't get one of these little smilies

thanks for your tips, i saw the car and it in somewhat good condition(it has allot of rust and bondo) but he has almost all the car complete with trim set aside. the vinyl top looks good and the interior looks worn out. the transmission doesn't work and the steering. the gages don't work ether.
man the engine was in great condition. the problem i had was it had allot of rust under the car, also it might have in the inside and fenders its covered in bondo. i dint asked if it had a clean title(i saw like 5 tickets in the glove-box)
i'm very tempted to buy it
sorry only pic i took:
