SMS (Steve Saleen) warranty assistance never happened. Has any one been successful. Here are the details. I am one of those fortunate or unfortunate Mustang owners who have both an '06 Saleen Coupe and an '08 GT500 Convertable. Unfortunately the Saleen rear spoiler has had a small crack at one end since the 200 mile mark; I have no idea how it started. Last fall the local Saleen Dealer said it was an installation problem and had gotten authorization for repair and was trying to get the part. The dealer didn't have the part when the current owners of Saleen dropped the "no longer covering warranty" bomb. Then Steve Saleen came on his white charger (Mustang) not a Chrysler and anounced he would cover warranty items. For a simple replace/paint a spoiler I have been corresponding and taking pictures of the problem for the last 3 months, and even though the dealer's body shop foreman has told the SMS representative the crack was an installation problem, Mr. Saleen stated through his representative that he will not authorize a minor repair that if it were a Ford factory spoiler problem, it would be covered under the basic car warranty. Mr. Shelby should have on his cars, but in the end, let the buyer beware. For a couple of hundred $s, the Saleen reputation continues.
