reverse polarity???

reverse polarity???

we changed the spark plugs and wires on my stang last night everything was set up according to the ignition pack and now it wont start! i just found out that some models need half the banks on a diferent plug for reverse polarity is this true?

no, they come that way from the factory on some cars, but the service part numbers are the same part number for both banks.

What year V6? if this is 05-09 then your in the wrong forum. I never heard about polarity and ignition...thats why I think its a 4.0.

can you be a little more specific? bdcardinal knows this cause he's a tech and has worked on 4.0's. I have never diagnosed CAN OBD's except maybe a few times.

ford had different spark plugs on the banks on some of the waste spark cars. both the 3.8 and 4.0 are waste spark. Sean Hyland gave a good explanation in his book about 4.6's, but basically the other bank's plugs are designed differently to get the vehicle through the warranty/ emissions warranty period.

the replacement service plugs are the same part number as the warranty thing isnt a concern anymore, that and it would confuse the hell out of people.

EDIT: if none of that makes sense, its a combination of being sober and not having caffeine when i typed that.
