Bullitt 4113 is lowered!!!

I got back from vacation today and had the urge to finally get off my ass and lower the B. I cut the springs 1 coil all around, no iso's in front and both iso's in the rear. I have fallen in love with this car all over again, it just looks so nasty! The ride isn't much worse than stock and it handles a little better. Overall its definitely a worthwhile free mod. To all those "don't cut springs" haters, I am telling you first hand it is fine. Just because your friends cousin's brother told you it was bad doesn't mean it is. It's obviously not coilovers, but the ride is WAY better than my '95 with Eibach Sportlines and my buddy's '97 GT with H&R Supersports. Enjoy!

That looks pretty nasty. The only think im worried about in lowering my bullitt is the mudflap sideskirts...ive come within a half an inch of scraping the hell out of them on some speedbumps. I can see if its not a DD then it wouldnt be that much of an issue.

Unfortunately mine is a DD, so I have to be careful. It definitely pays to have access to the gf's car though. Keeps the miles off mine!

That looks great, & man is that thing dumped... I have said it before, & I will say it again, there is nothing wrong with cutting STOCK specific rate springs as long as you have quality shocks & struts, & Bullitts come from with factory with Tokico's. It is actually pretty common with drag racers, Cobra owners, & even Chip Foose does it... It is NOT a good idea to cut aftermarket lowering springs since they are progressive rate.

I dropped it about 1.25" more than the stock Bullitt drop (.75") and about 1" in the rear. I'm thinking about putting one of the front iso's back in to raise it up another 1/4" just so I don't shred the chin spoiler. If I do that it would be a 1.75" drop all around...roughly.

UPDATE: I put the front iso's in the car because it was just too low. It looked so nasty, but it was too bouncy and too low after driving it around all day today. After reinstalling the iso's I am SO pleased. It made a world of difference in the ride as well as the handling.

I still recommend cutting these springs if you are looking for a cost effective route, just save yourself the trouble of trial and error and just install the iso's all around.

I love Bullitts and that's one of the best looking Bullitts.

Good idea putting the isos back in. Just in case people are wondering, its not the cut springs making it bouncy, its the fact that there was probably no more bump travel since the car was so low & the dampers were most likely bottomed out...

Yea definitely a great idea. The dampers weren't bottoming out at all, they still had enough travel in them. My stock struts on my old '95 used to bottom out real bad until I got fox body KYB's for the front, so I know how bad it gets. It rides so nicely now. Its obviously not like stock, but it is much better than my old car that had Sportlines, and I think this handles better too.
