new sub amp and headunit...amp not gettin power when sub hits...

ok i just put a new amp sub and headunit into my 2000 mustang... the speaker does hit a little u can barly tell it... its 1 12' l5 and a 1600 watt amp... the power light comes on the amp... when i turn it up a little the power hit starts blinking when the subs hit like it isnt getting enough power... i kno everything in this system works... i had another system in there and it did the same thing... changed power wire to 2g and still dosnt work changed RCA cables there walmart brand maybe i said get some better ones... also tryed grounding to a different spot... i think i got the mach 460 system i cant seem to find the amps tho... i dont have a fuse on my power wire and just have the wire wraped around the battary termal... let me kno somthing...

First, put a proper terminal on the cable end with an inline fuse on the power cable, or you're going to burn your car to a crisp.

Ok, with that out of the way... You're probably not getting enough current through the power cable with the way it's currently attached. Is your ground cable the same size as the power feed? Attached to some nice shiny bare metal? Where are you getting the signal from for the RCA's, if you can't find the amps for the Mach system? They should be under the rear deck attached to the speaker enclosure. If that's not there and you don't have tweeters on your doors, next to the mirrors, it's not the Mach system.

Check the ground too, a bad ground will also cause that. Also...what kind of amp is this? Please don't say Sparkomatic.

as stated before, put the proper size terminal wring and then bold it to your battery. i don't even really know what else to say lol. get your wire fixed also what is the rms of the amp? and power and ground both same awg? do you have any eletrical upgrades?
