1969 vert boot issue

The convertible top boot on my 69 doesnt stay in place when driving. It has 3 snaps on each side and no fasteners across the back, so when I drive over 20 mph the whole center of the boot flaps and eventually the snaps become undone. Is this an ordinary issue? How can I secure the boot? Thanks

Around the trim, there should be plastic tabs on the boot that tuck in under the "Hockey Sticks". Accross the back seat is a rail that the boot edge has a part that tucks in.

It can be a pain if the boot has shrunken.

I find the boot cover is probably one of the most annoying aspects of a 69 convert. Even with it tucked in and snapped down (a process which can be quite an ordeal) it still manages to undo itself every now and then. I've actually seen a few cars where snaps have been added around the chrome trim, although I certainly wouldn't do that.

DO NOT DRILL HOLES IN THE TRIM (HOCKEY STICKS) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are made of un-obtainium. If anything, your boot may have shrunk. I had that issue with mine, and the replacement boots are crappy. Live with it, one of the quirks of being a 69 Vert Owner!
