For my 03 Convertible Premy GT I payed 29k. Seem as if 39k will be the new Vert Premy price. Camaros are the same way. You could get loaded SS for around 29k, now its 34k and 36k with a RS package.

The Economys tanking and our car prices are still skyrocketing lol

MSRP was $43080 for my GT conv prem. with the options.

I drove the sales guys crazy for an hour withthe back and forth and when all was said and done my total was $39080.

Probably couldve drove it a little further down but the sales manager was flustered at the time...at 1 point he tried to ignore my sales guy, lol

There was a $1k rebate in there, not sure what plan etc.

Hehe - i know they had an 07 Shelby at the dealer with a sticker of 46200.

I appreciate the non-stomping.

Anyways 43k was MSRP .... I wound up at 39k which included just about every option but remote start in a GT premium convertible.

By the way The Rousch MSRP is $56k.....

no they are not, and here is why.

x plan is given to the people who work for companys that help ford in some fashion, such as sony, coleman, textron(sp) etc...( invoice plus hold back)

z plan is given to the people whos relatives are retired ford employees(real invoice)

a plan is given to people who are retired for employees( real invoice)

and D plan is given to current ford employees(100 over real invoice).

With those kind of prices for a Mustang or a Camaro, the sells numbers will drop. Normal people can't and won't pay that much for a Mustang or Camaro. Sure the new Mustang might be a great car, but it is a Mustang, which I always thought was the average man's sport cars. I am saddened to see that the Mustang has gotten away from that. I have said it and will say it again. If the prices stay this high, it will eventually hurt the Mustang.

A mustang can still be had for 28k, which IMO is not a bad deal considering what you're getting for your money.

I must have missed something. I haven't heard of someone buying a Mustang GT for $28,000 that didn't use some kind of restricted discount such as an X plan. Sure people can use those plan, but since most people can't than $28,000 really isn't the true price.

Sure the new Mustang is a great car and it seems to be a lot better than the 04's and earlier, but what Ford fails to realize, the people buying the new Mustangs are not the younger generations, but older people (over 35). The average person cannot afford a $30,000 plus car. What this does is drive the younger generations into cars like Honda Civics and other cheaper cars that they can modify cheaply. Those same people will later keep buying non American cars and than you have an entire generation that doesn't appreciate American muscle cars. I grew up wanting a Mustang and I had a lot of friends in high school that had Mustangs b/c they were relatively cheap.

Just my 2 cents worth.

The price for the base GT on Ford's website is $27,995...$28,845 including destination charges. Throw in the 3.73 axle and it's $29,340. Sure it doesn't come with leather or a fancy stereo, but you're still getting a lot of performance for under $30k. And if the $1,000 rebate is still available then that brings down the price, but even if it's not available it's still inexpensive considering what you're getting. Of course, if you want the leather and ambient lighting and interior upgrade and the 19" wheels then of course that's going to drive the price up, but that's why they're optional, not everyone wants all that.

GT premium with x-plan which is 1,000 off sticker. There isnt a whole lot of mark up so if you get about 2,000 off sticker your about at invoice. Before all the taxes and fees i was at about 30k

hmm i managed to snag my grabber blue gt with 5speed and 3.73 gears and leather interior for 28 ?? i mean i got no crazy x plan d or M or cash for clunkers crap just a healthy down payment and i stood my ground on my online quote off ford.com and with the $1000 rebate most dealerships were doing at the time i scored big... deals can be found you jsut got to look.

and i totally get what your saying about cars and the younger generation im not old but i can remember when i was 16 and all i wanted was a 5.0 (yeah im not to old but old enough) i worked my tail off and still came up waaay short so i ended up getting a used craptastic bronco but i saved and did what i had to do to get up to the mustang level.. i dont believe the young should be able to hop right into a mustang as we all know MOST kids are stupid most not all..plus do you really want to introduce todays youth to something more addictive than herion??? the stang craze wich is the most disturbing craze/addiction out of any of the cars i cant shake it and im sure it will slowly make me a poor old man with a big sh1t eating grin on my face.

Happy Tuning plus youth and ricers go together like penutbutter and jelly and my mustang is starving

In Canada the MSRP for a Premium GT (or what is considered premium in the US) is $37,499(CAD) vs. $30,995(USD), we don't get the option for basic GT. Once you add options like 3.73, the nicer interior and delivery +taxes you are in your low to mid 40s vs. mid 30s in the US.

Considering our dollar is pretty close to parity, it makes for a ****ty deal for those of us up north. I hope Ford takes this in consideration and adjusts the price in the coming months with more incentives...otherwise, when the time is right for me to buy, I may need to go stateside to get my mustang.

I guess the point I am trying to make with my post is that as bad as the prices may be in the US, they could be worse considering what others have to pay.

How about a brand new 2010 GT Coupe for just $25,450 after rebate. Here's one at that price today (and it has the 3.73 axle pkg).

Yikes. The prices are getting up there for the 2010s and the 2011s are certainly going to cost more. My plan was to wait for a 2011, but I may jump on a 2010 if I see one for a good price like the post by Five Oh Brian.

The one I mentioned is for sale right now. Just jump on a plane to SeaTac Int'l Airport in Seattle. We're just a couple miles from the airport and we'll pick you up. Then, drive your new '10 GT home.

Haha, that's rad. I gotta say it sounds tempting.

That BTW is a great deal indeed, what does suck about the '10's is they seem to almost need those exterior options, like the nice wheels, etc. which certainly drive the price up.

You should try to negotiate for invoice - all holdback - all factory rebates and special apr financing. In many cases x-plan pricing is actually higher than invoice so if they give you a choice, ask to see the invoice sheet and it'll show you on the bottom if they refuse to show you the invoice pack up and head out. I guarantee theres another dealership down the street that will.
