01 3.8 AT has a severe squealing noise. Car was hit in the left front and has had steering rack replaced, has whine/squeal that increases on acceleration is very loud. Guy who fixed it says it is air in the power steering, but at idle no noise and even when revving it at idle no noise, typical noisy ps pump.I am beginning to wonder if it's in the transmission or torque converter.It is still there at highway (60-70) mph but is a low noise when it upshifts into o/d. Any ideas, suggestions? It is a pretty bad whining noise.
Otherwise car seems fine and runs fine, all that was fixed was the body work, replacing the rack and pinion, alignment, and ball joint.
