Yeah, I was just flying my CX in my garage where I think the wind was cycling thru since the door is open. If I'm babying it, then I can usually overcome the wind, but when I get a little stupid, I start breaking blades like nothing! I have caught just a 1-2mph breeze and cut the sticks the right way to make that heli bank at like 45 degrees and it is not meant for that HAHA.

I'd post pics, but that means I'd have to go upstairs and upload, blah blah blah.

Dude, buy whatever you want. I think the point is that it may not be what you expect. But I'm sure you'll still enjoy the hell outta it!

Seriously, you ever give any thought to planes?

I have.

I find that flying helis for 5-6 minutes at a time with unending focus and concentration, I want something that isn't as intense...so I'm looking at planes.

I've picked up a couple little park flyers (Cessna and Sukhoi) and a big Slow Stick.

Flying planes isn't hard, per say, but it's drastically different than a heli, and a different skill set to do it smoothly.....

Figure I'll get the controls under hand, and then I'll pick up a few EDF jets......Got plenty of Heli batteries that are too tired for a heli, but will work fine for a plane...

Damn thing is, that it is hard enough to get 5 helis and support gear in the Mustang now, getting a plane is going to suck ass!!!!

I like planes and have flown several but landing is a problem for me. I always crash.

Anyway, I love the helis and want to stick with just that for now. I am doing allot of car mods now too and just dont want so many things on the stove at once. I just want to hone my heli flying skills now.

I'm trying to balance RC heli's.....cars....and planes.....oh and the Fox.

I've not really flown many planes but am about to pick up a basic 3ch plane I can fly in small park spaces or perhaps even my backyard. And go from there.

I have my RC Rustler....love that thing and its pretty quick, but need a decent chargers and batts for it. Maybe one day go brushless with Lipo's and get that beotch going 70mph!

RC toys have been in my blood as long as cars. When I was like 6-7 we had Tamiya Hornet and some other stuff. At about 10 we bought this Zero fighter 4chn plane that was way beyond a beginner level! I still try to limit my spending on stuff. So far I have 2 Air hogs little planes, my Rustler, my Llama v4, and my HBKII. A plane is my next purchase along with getting my heli's flying normal.

All of this balanced with wanting to add AC to my Fox, along with a few hundy in replacing some electrical items like door actuators and fuel guage malfunctions......

And hopefully within the next 12 mos, a 5-6psi supercharger.

Ok, i just charged my new battery for my CP....and its the same as the last few times I have fully charged both of my new lipo's......at full charge, neither one are giving it enough juice to lift off. And I've got like no tail control.

Motor burning out maybe? Its hard to do much else to tune it when it doesn't even spin enough to lift off.

Can I check my batts with a digital MM?

Checking batteries with a Multimeter is limited. You really can only check the voltage (which should be ~12.6 volts, charged) but you need to be able to make sure that the hold up under a load.....

I'd pin issues on a brushed motor. When a brushed motor goes bad, it loses SIGNIFICANT power. Even a really worn battery should make enough power to hover.

Soldering deans shouldn't be too hard. Though, soldering is an art that comes from experience. I've done a lot of soldering in my career, so hobby soldering is particularly simple. It's just a matter of proper heat and patience. Make sure you tip is clean. What wattage is your iron??? Mine at home is a 25-60 watt iron...i think.....

These dang Deans have given me hell! i only have a 25w iron...i called upon my mechanic and good friend. He brought over a butane solder iron and we both tooled with it, and still had a heck of a time!

I'm just so used to wrapping wires around something or sticking them into something and soldering. Nope, these it seems you have to hold it all perfectly still and make that connection.

Is it possible my worn motor burnt my original batt and made it puff? My heli has not flown since my original batt pufft. I bought a couple of Mega Power 1350's to replace the original thinking it was my batt. I've fully charged them both many times, and my heli doesn't lift at all.

Soooo.....should I order a brush motor and tweak it, or just install the brushless stuff that I have and go from there?

If the brushed motor doesn't have the umph to get you up to set it up, than just go brushless for the setup. Make sure you do you initial setup in the "Normal" settings, so you have the power to slowly ramp up headspeed. If your not getting off the ground with new batteries, then that motor is shot....

If I remember correctly, the HBKII didn't have a very good soft start on the idle up......

It isn't worth getting another brushed motor......they are garbage...even at ~$10 a piece.....

Umm....no....I switch the idle switch and the beotch goes nutso! I've hovered it in that mode for about 20 secs before....but its beastly.

I'm gonna finish soldering the connectors now to switch to the brushless then mount the hardware.

Wait, it goes full RPM in idle up mode? Did you change your throttle/pitch curve in the radio by accident? Ive done that already.

No, Its not full rpm. But switching to idle up mode is still a kicker when you don't expect it. Idle up mode should go pretty much full rpm though. Switches ur heli from 4ch and beyond. The main shaft should spin pretty much full throttle and flat. Your left stick (up and down) then goes from controlling lift to blades going completely flat and now ur controlling a whole new dimension. In idle up mode on mine, throttle at half stick still stays on ground. I go below that and she pushes the ground like she wants to jump up and go inverted.

Oh, and a lesson I learned about the 2nd day of ownership....never accidentally switch the idle switch while holding the heli...

OUCH!

Tard. I know what the idle up does. I was asking if your motor was working corectly in idle up mode because it sounded like that with your other post. That was confusing but if it still dosent spin fast in idle up then the motor is shot and you are heading the right way with the brushless.

I have seen every Magnum PI episode so yes.

You can watch Magnum on demand if you have Netflix. A-Team, Night Rider, etc also on there.

Damn prick ass POS mFer! m

I offer the dude $140 for the 4G3 and hes asking $150. He agrees pending the price of shipping. He then informs me two days latter on Monday that he now has other offers for the full price plus shipping. I tell him I will match that as long as the shipping isnt nuts. He says he will get me a quote yesterday. I email him last night saying I now have the funds so I can paypal him today. This ass hat emails me this morning and says that he sold it to someone else. What a dick!
I put my wheels up for $200, got an offer at full price plus shipping and agreed to accept the offer. Right after a guy emails me on LVC saying he will give me $250 + shipping, better deal for me but I already told the other dude OK and I stuck to my damn word! Pisses me off to no end when people break their word and are ass holes like that.

So IDK, I may just not buy anything now. I had my mind set on that 4G3.
