98 cobra : long tube header material question

trying which set of hooker's to buy

this is for a road racing application, where the car will be run hard for 20" - 3 hour enduros, as opposed to brief runs at a drag strip or on the street.
thus, more time for heat to build up and soak through ceramic coatings (to my line of thinking)

from a durability, and a performance sandpoint - which makes more sense??
$tainle$$,
high temp painted,
or the ceramic coated

seems like the benefit from the ceramic coated would be more noticible for drag racing where you run the motor just a short spell.

even with the ceramic insulating coating, after 30" or more, the heat still has to be coming through to the engine bay, once the ceramic gets "heat soaked",

afterall, it only can slow transmission of heat from teh header to the engine bay, not prevent it.

does the hi-temp painted models require fequent re-painting or other maintainence/inspection which stainless doesnt?

or is it only aesthetics?
is stainless that much superior?

thanks,
doc

Since I bought my first set of ceramic coated headers and tried them... I will never buy anything else.

Greatest thing since sliced bread.

Get the ceramics, you wont regret it.

( the first time I slipped on a wrench and ran my hand up against the headpipe, while the car had been running for 10-15 min, and I pulled my hand back 100% UNburned... I understood just how neat the **** really is )

Stainless is by far the longest lasting material. The ceramic coating will flake off as do all other coatings.
