Any drifters in here? RB25 240 build.

A buddy and I just started doing a R33 RB25deT swap into a 240. (skyline engine for those of you who don't know)
It's going pretty smoothly for now. With the 3071R, the car should get around 500rwhp.. The next step after tuning/testing is a T51R The goal is 1000rwhp.

So for those of you who appreciate cars that aren't muscle, heres the build.

Sorta. The stock RB25 can be found for under 2K with a trans.
This build has about 9K in it, but it's good for 1500 or so hp. haha
The weakest part is the rods, and they are RATED at 1300hp.
So yes, this build was pretty pricey. But worth it, you don't see these engines very often.

Very Nice build. I just moved to the Philippines and i am gonna try to get into drifting. Just picked up a Cefiro with a Skyline engine swap. Mostly stock for now but I am not a good drifter yet either.

Looks like a great build. My best friend is almost done his build. He swapped a RB20 into his '89 240sx hatch(S13) we're just waiting on the engine harness to get shipped everything else is done.

Update!

We got everything together and started the engine.
Pulled off the radiator cap to check the coolant, and it came out looking like chocolate milk!
So either a cracked head, or bad headgasket.

SOOOOOOOO.... we took the head off... and inspected the head gasket. It turnes out the company that sent us the gasket, sent one for an RB26 engine NOT RB25. and there was only a slight difference...
Flushed out the coolant system, installed the correct gasket, added oil... car runs like a champ now. Going to get it dyno tuned next week. Looking for 450+rwhp. and thats maxing out the GT3071R too. Later this winter a T51R is going on the setup. Hoping for 1000rwhp

I'll post some vids and pics up later tonight.

Went to the Dyno earlier this week. Tuning went pretty well, ended up with 435rwhp 350rwtq at 17psi.
I would have kept going, but the MAF gave out.
Im going to the track this weekend, hoping for low 12s or high 11s
I'll keep everyone updated.

Although I’m in no way, shape or form into imports, I can appreciate the amount of work that’s gone into building this one. Great Job

…that being said, it’s a real shame that’s its going to be used for such and gay “ricer sport” like figure skating on asphalt.

haha, thanks. Its not only going to be used for drifting. The car is driven daily.

Track times today! 12.2 @ 122mph with a 2.1 60'.
Only got two runs in. Hopefully it'll break into the 11's next visit to the track!

Last night we put in TWIN Walbro 255 HPs in the tank and a Kenne Bell boost-a-pump. So the fuel system is set.
The FPR was giving trouble so It got replaced with an AEM FPR. Turned out to be a fuel line with a SMALL crack in it... HAHA. things could be worse....

Currently in the worst part of a build.
WORKING OUT THE KINKS!

Hoping to get an Abaco performance MAF to get me to 1000rwhp.
Thanks to twogts4us for finding that!

School me on these engines.
Is this the Skyline GTR engine? Because I thought those were known as rb26.
Nice car BTW. Looks like you have a GT500 killer there.
