kit looks exactly the same except the exhaust housing is bigger

Good to hear the hard work is begining to pay off. That would be a fast street car if it was a fox body, but being a classic make twice as impressive. Are you going to put a cage in it now?

We are easy to keep up with. I have been on jackstands for almost a year. This spring I hope to have it running again and shiny too.

Huh, less boost and made less hp ? More MPH I believe. I felt sorry for the 76 lol. Buddies lightning is doing the same right now. About out of steam @ 680 rwhp. Guy that sold him the kit used told him at 21 psi it made 780 rwhp.

So that big ass housing is still a 3.5 dp huh ? No fabbing to get it in ? Dynoing Rich's soon with the new turbo and IC.

4". i just necked it down after a foot or so. tied back into the old downpipe. my wastegate needed moved some and it no longer dumps back into the downpipe.
the boost on the dyno was within a pound or so of the 76mm. weird it was down so much hp. my butt dyno told me otherwise.

He's got my old A4.

Wonder if the air was that different from when you dynoed to when you ran at the track. Your butt dyno has to be worth something. HTF do you lose 65 rwhp and gain 6mph lol. Wonder if your at the bottom of the map and she's just struggling a lot less to make the power.

How to you like the open wg compared to being dumped ?

weather was warm when i dynoed and raced the 76. it was cool when i dynoed and raced the 88. oh well, glad i don't race dynos.
i'm not a fan of the dumped wg. it's obviously louder during wot. i like my stuff quiet. the things you do to appease the goddess of horsepower.
i'm already thinking of what to change for next year (always onwards and upwards). i really want to get rid of the bonnet and 4hole tb. i want to do a forward facing elbow and tuck it under a 2.5" cowl hood.

Wanna sheet metal intake ? lol My buddy is taking of his forward facing 90 and victor jr intake with efi one of these days. The only thing they notices witht he elbow like that was the egt's are higher on the center cyls, primarily 2 and 6 fwiw.
What about A/w for that thing. GO 8's PAUL !!!!!

made it to the track for the last time this year. added 100lbs to the trunk and got a 1.49 60' getting a little air under the tires. the car liked the extra weight and it would bog some during launch. i left at 3300, 3700, and when i launched at 4000 i was looking at the wall.
the ballast settled the launch down. before, the suspension would unload alot. i get bounced around inside. last night, it just left. i'll d/l a boring vid tonight.
i ran a 9.78, 9.70, and a 9.62. killed another alternator. need to wrap my pipes again.

1.4x was a goal. i have qa1 single adj out back.
i'm content with the cars performance, so i don't think i'm going to change a thing for next year. hopefully the money hemorrhaging will stop now (yeah, rigggght).

I'm looking forward to that video. How about a new shot of under the hood? How much E98 does it take from your house to the track, passes and back home? Will a full tank and a 5 gallon can do it?

I have been studying about Caltracs in the stock suspension section over at the Bullet. There are some sharp guys there that are willing to share some setup help.

you have no idea. i go through a $155 drum a month.

brian,
i get about 7mpg, or 8gph. a full tank plus 5gal will do it, but i carry two 5gal cans. my 120# inj were at 95%. i cranked the fp from 45 to 55 and my dc dropped to 85%. fuel consumption is crazy for e98, but 20psi and 26deg timing with no intercooler is alright.
the vid to too boring to bother uploading.
