Sup Guys?

Well the storage shed next to the one I rent was open and I decided to rent it was well. I'm gonna put my car in it. Last time I seen my car the passanger floor was wet so its leaking somewhere. The plan is to get it in there and start tearing down the engine. Well after I get the truck done which I hope to be this week.

Before I start I have not given up on the 514. I have a new plan of doing a smaller engine for now so I can drive it and still pass emissions. Then later down the road. Put the 514 in. Build it up over time and all that.

Not sure what I wanna do yet. I'm sure I'll be back around here asking stupid questions again soon.

As for the Ram. I finally got my engine back like 10 months later. its bored .030 over now and totally rebuilt pretty much everythings new. I'll give ya's the run down on that later.

Lifes going well

How are all you guys doing?

Glad to hear you still have plans and ambition to work on the car, Jinx. I haven't touched mine in months, and it hasn't been drivable in over a year. I should have just left it alone.

Chris, we're gonna have to throw you a divorce party.

Thats what I haven't decided yet. IF I stick with the 302 it will have heads and cam. We all know I can't leave stuff alone.

A nice stock block based 306-347 would be nice. Something bigger would be sweet too lol

ya figure I need it to pass emissions for another 5 years. I'll get my moneys worth out of whatever I do

Hey man, good to see ya post. Glad things are going well for ya too. Seems like it wasnt too long ago that you had lost a job and were having problems getting work done on your truck, etc. Glad to hear that rough time has passed. Everything in my life is the same ol' same except I have a baby boy due on Feb. 10th. Other than that, Im planning on self porting my GT40Ps over the winter, and thats about it. I have been doing research on where to port, and its nothing at all like I would have guessed, so well see how it goes. Heres hoping I dont find any water jackets!

Its still in that field and that why I decided to spend the extra money to rent a shed. I figure in the long run it will save me money. God only knows what the water leaking in it is messing up

Oh yeah the job is great. I get paid to sit around at home. I am getting paid right now. I'm gonna go work on the truck engine and get paid to do it ha ha. i lost my job in November and started this one the end of December. feels like I was off longer then I was. I have been able to spend way more then plained on the truck.

Eastwood has a self porting kit if you haven't bought anything to do it yet. Seems like a good set up. I think its like 20-30 bucks they just lowered the price of it

Congrats on the baby man. I hope I find that special someone to have kids with someday

Yeah man, Im really excited about the baby. Youll find that person when you least expect it. And youll know it when you do. The baby was unplanned, but we are at a point in our lives when there is no better time, so its good. I had to settle for the GT40P's cause baby funds wont allow for aluminum heads. The wife doesnt like the car either, so there are give and takes to the relationship Im in. (Lots of asking for forgiveness instead of permission) Overall, Im a happy camper and cant complain.

Yeah, Ive been on and off here and there. While it was nice out, I spent a lot of time outside. Now its getting cold again here in Iowa, so you guys will be seeing more of me again. The mustang isnt going anywhere. She doesnt like me spending money on it, but gets over it rather quickly.

Well if all goes well I'll be picking the car up tomorrow

I'm having a hell of a time with the truck. Getting new motor mounts is holding me up now. I was just gonna use the old ones. I lost part of the one then decided to buy new ones. You have to buy part of it from a dealer though. Then Advance got 2 of the same side. Not their fault the manufacturer put the wrong part in the box

Now that we know Jinx doesnt care about us hijacking, Ill let you know that Im cool with starting a thread on this subject when I do it. I have found a couple websites on it, but Im still a little leary and need to research more. One guy was flow testing as he went, and found lots of areas that he lost flow... His exhaust runners ended up only getting ported on the bottom left corner, because hogging them out to match the headers actually lost a good bit of flow. Turns out there is actually an area of vacuum in the bottom right corner of the exhuast runners on GT40P's??? I dont have the means to test mine, so it will be modest porting.
