Export Mirror Photos!

Bought these for a guy on the Corral, they just came in today. These were already painted by the former owner, they normally are the unpainted black plastic like ours. Here are photos I took tonight:

I also wanted to make sure that the mirrors were for the correct year, so I temporarily installed the driver's mirror on my GT. The power plug hooks right up and the driver's motor works. I did not test the passenger window motor.

Forgot I had to take the inner door panel off to disconnect the mirror power plug. What a PITA, but worth it just for the photos. Here is what the mirror looks like on my red GT. The red does not match, but it is close.

The mirror is just dirty here.

The mirrors were noticeably heavier than ours, probably because of the extra reinforcement used to let the mirror fold. I wouldn't be surprised if the "hinge" was made of metal plates.

They certainly look cool, but I'm not sure I would want to buy them for the price. This set cost over $300 after you add up all the shipping costs and fees to get them from Japan.

They'd look great with matched paint!

In your sig it mentions export tail lights? If you don't mind shooting me a PM on some info for those, I'd appreciate it!

I wonder how the 03-04 Cobra mirrors compare to these. I'm thinking about buying a set of those and seeing what it takes to get them to work.

I dont really see the need for having folding mirrors? Especially if they are heavier... I guess just to be different?

I think they really make the "body colored" mirror look right. Would i pay $300? Maybe when everything else is just right on my car

Here's a photo I found online with an 03-04 mirror on a 94-98 GT, and it did not fit.

The original thread is on SVT Performance.

Someone here....cant recall who.....but they made them fit. Not sure what they did to modify it though. But at that point, you might as well just buy the export ones. I dont imagine 03/04 mirrors being too cheap.

The 03-04's are not made to fit the lines on our doors and look like crap on the 94-98's IMO.

Here's a pic of one...not the greatest pic...notice the overhang on the bottom?

Your photo was kinda good, though you were a bit slow on the post....

This thread is #3 on Google when searching for "mustang export mirrors". Too bad these export parts aren't so easy for me to find, or I could make a lot of $$$$.

You can't use them straight from your hard drive. You will have to use a photo hosting site such as Photobucket, Flickr, etc.
