Shaker 1K Rear Spkr Delete

GF has the 1K Shaker in her 2007 GT convertible and does not like how much room it takes up in the trunk. Saw a thread where someone took the trunk speakers out. Can this be done by just unbolting and unplugging? If not, what needs to be done? By the way, we never have the boomer on so we'll never miss it.

I removed mine, and yes, it all just unbolts. Besides the subs and amps, there's connecting brackets related hardware, like nuts and bolts. It reduces between betwen thirty-five and forty pounds off the car. BTW, I'd like to sell the trunk subs, amps and hardware. PM me if interested.

mine works really well and can take a fair amount of pressure without bending

I also had the Shaker1000 system (recently swapped it all out). The trunk subs and amps are easy to remove. The sub box is held in by a few nuts/bolts, the amp rack is held in by a few as well and then there are three wire harness plugs that need to be unplugged. I used to take it out at the drag strip all the time.
Here is the link to the thread where I took it out of the car:
