Stang is on Jackstands

Well took the car to the local smog test shop here in Cali and the car failed due to the egr. Pushed my final button with the California Laws, gave me the reason to garage it and start the madness of mods. Out with the old stock exhaust and in with new full exhaust and h/c/i setup. Should be done mid Jan. And it will be Registered in Illinois where im originally from which requires no emissions.

Good luck. I wanted a stroker engine putting out 400+rwhp, street friendly, non-forced induction over 2 years ago. I was getting there until I got some bad advice and threw 42# injectors and LT's at it. Then all hell has broken loose and its become a $$$ eater guessing game trial and error Hell. I am hoping the last bit I am dumping into it this week is final.

You'll be fine. I had the same kit on my 306 and it rocked. I had the 3.90 gears and it really was perfect.

did you have a 5 speed or auto tho? I still have the auto but didn't feel like doing to t-5 conversion so i figured a shift kit would at least improve.

Yes, I had a 5 speed. Shift kit will make the trans last longer and pretty cool to boot. Just make sure you DO get the right gears so your car doesn't actually go slower lol. Shifting the power band up in an auto can do that.

Its preference and yo usaid you would be driving on long trips. I'd prolly go 3.90 with an auto as 4.10's would push it just over the edge for my preference. I'll find you that gear calc so you can decide for yourself. Some peeps will tell you to go 4.10 or 4.30 but dont let anyone tell you awe, its not that much difference. BS, every 125rpm adds up for every tooth you go higher. But it all comes down to personal preference. I wouldn't go less than 3.73 gears tho.

are you talking about the metal tube that runs to the back of the head? you need to either plug that tube or plug it where it comes out of the head.
