HI Guys,

I am new here

i am Ralph from The Netherlands and have an mustang 2005 gt automatic ,and want to have an supercharger .In The Netherlands there is only 1 company who can install it and the work with an vortec high output .
But a lot of people are saying that Saleen stage 2 brenspeed is better ?? is that really thru? is there really so much of turbo lag with the vortec ...? i am an normal driver sometimes street sometimes road racer....please advise me..

Welcome to Stangnet! I was in the Netherlands on vacation earlier this year. My wife's parents were born in Holland and we stayed with her family while there.

While we were in Holland, we visited a friend in Almere who owns two Shelby Mustangs - both are supercharged. One is an 07 GT500 with a roots style supercharger (like the Saleen, only different) and the other is an 09 Terlingua with a Paxton supercharger (identical to the Vortech supercharger). If you live anywhere near Almere, my friend would probably love to assist you. His name is Patrick and he is the president of Dutch Mustang club.

I have a Vortech V2 supercharger on my 07 Mustang GT. The lag is not noticable with steep gears (I have 4.10 rear end gears), but you may sense some lag with the factory gears (3.31). The Vortech superchargers are very durable and fuel economy isn't much different than stock - good news for someone paying 1.5+ Euros per litre for gasoline.

On a side note, our trip to Holland this year was my first. The people were wonderful, the food was great (except the herring), and we saw much of the country in a short time (from the North Sea in the west to Borger and Terborg in the east and just about everywhere in between). Only saw a few Mustangs on the road during our 2 weeks there, but they were nice ones.

If you have trouble finding shops in the Netherlands to do the work on your car, I would almost bet there are a few shops in Germany???

Beautiful country you live in. I can't wait to go back again. We stayed with my wife's aunt & uncle in the small vesting town of Weesp (near Amsterdam), but spent every day driving far and wide to see so much. Loved riding bicylces through the countryside - which is easy since it is so flat everywhere.

Changing the rear end gears are one of the first changes many of us make with our Mustangs. I had 4.10 gears installed in my 2007 Mustang GT and I have an automatic transmission, as well. Here in the USA, it costs about $500-$1000 for the parts and labor to install. The speedometer has to be changed, which is quite easy with a handheld tuner (i.e. SCT, Diablosport, etc.). Those tuners cost about $350-$500 here in the USA.

The Saleen and other positive displacement (PD) blowers will provide boost at lower rpms. This will give the car more of a bigger engine (larger displacement). Don't listen to some that will say the PD blowers will have boost all the time. The boost engages via a bypass valve that is activated by vac lines. If you don't want boost with a PD blower, don't go WOT. IF you do, the boost is there at almost any rpm. My Saleen blower puts up only 7 pounds of boost, but makes great "street" bower. No need to always be 4K and up for power. Boost starts very early, yet very easy to drive around town when not in boost. Also, I still get 25+ on the highway cruising 70mph. Another benefit, no real need to change the gears.

Vortechs are nice too, just depends on what type of blower, PD or centri. Low rpm boost or mid-high rpm boost. I wouldn't call the Vortech "turbo lag", but you will wait to 4K+ for boost to start to build.
