I really tried to like 0bama and gave him my best faith effort, but he just turned out to be another Jimmy Carter and let me down at every step. Remind you about your posts about McCain?
You don't have to like Obama.

I still want to like McCain. He just lost me when he stopped the straight talk and moved to tote the republican party line.

Jimmy Carter, my granddad said he was the honest, moral, man he thought American's wanted in office. Was he a dufuss? Maybe, I bearly remember his presidency and I know some bad things happened during his term. Though he's been a good negotiator since.

A good negotiator? Do you remember the Iranian hostage crisis? And what ended it?
Jimmy Carter was arguably the worst president EVER. Google misery index.

I do remember the hostage crisis. There was simply no wining that one. Hopefully the recent election protests signal that Iran is about to end it's experiment with Islamic government.

Actually, I believe there was winning that one. I believe it came about 20 minutes after Reagan was sworn into office and the Iranians knew the game was over.

Good enough to make the Iranians give up the gig. For that matter, good enough to win the cold war.

actually there was a way to win in that situation, but it would have required some balls, unfortunately carter had none. what carter should have done was tell the iranians that we want are people back, you have a week. if at the end of that week our people are not on a plane heading for america, we will start to level your country. and to show that we are serious, we are going to bomb the crap out of one of your military bases.

had carter done that we wouldnt have the problems with iran and the rest of the middle east that we have now. instead carter chose the let the negotiations drag on incessantly, and make the US look weak in the eyes of the iranians. when reagan won the election in 1980, the iranians knew that reagan would in fact start bombing their country, and they were not ready for that.
