The reason the car is so close to them, is because there is an oven on the other side of it. Without the oven there, the car can move over another foot to foot and a half and be centered. There is also plenty of room forward, when we move the workout stuff and desk.

Josh I will be redoing the whole garage in due time, might throw some roll bar type padding or something on them.

OK, so the first time homebuyer credit thing isn't official yet, but apparently, its expected that Obama will sign it into law very soon.

The $24 billion package also contains tax credits aimed at struggling businesses.

The IRS says some 1.4 million people applied for the homebuyers credit through August, helping enliven the moribund housing market. The legislation would extend the program through June of next year, as long as the buyer signs a contract by the end of April. It also offers a $6,500 tax credit to those who have lived in their current residence at least five years.

Got ya that would be a good idea. I put some padding down low for katies car so she cant hit her door on the edge of the concrete. I shouldn't be talking though my garage is unfinished with 1 outlet . You have a good head start.

Thanks Dave...

The way the car sits now it is real close... but that will be fixed this weekend. I would like to get it up further towards the front as well. I think I have a car cover for it somewhere, maybe this Sunday (supposed to be 60 out) I will clean it, detail it and store it for the winter.

Low 50s I want to say. It's high 40s today, so chilly out. Putting your hands in water in 45-50 degree air sucks! Especially if its windy.

Garage
I love the curtains in the garage!

The room above is actually pretty cool. I'd turn it into a sort of Man-Cave. I'd toss a mini-fridge, PS3, 50" Plasma and some cozy ass couches and basically never leave the garage ever.

When i do my oil changes, i'd remove the plug pan, and then upstairs and play some "Call of Duty" for an hour or so...to make sure all the oil is out!

Place looks great! you will have fun making your own, I did little and big projects over the years to make my place the way I like it. I knocked down walls in the living room/kitchen area to open it up, finished off the basement, redid the bath, justr to name a few things. It's fun although I just got done raking and cleaning up a s***t load of leaves home ownership

Nice house! I recall seeing another thread when you had first purchased it that showed a steep driveway. How's the car make it up?

Also, that TV is screaming to be wall mounted above the fireplace mantle.

Off topic: have Josh and Brian ever raced black LX vs. two tone LX? That's a race I'd like to see. I've heard you guys both have the driver mod done to your cars.

The house looks killer by the way, Brian. Congratulations!

I kind of always wanted to but it never happened. My car is stock motor so I know what the outcome would have been I just would have liked to know how bad. Now on the street with me on my slicks and Brian on 18" street tires would be a good time But we'll never know. Broke the t5 again yesterday

Thanks guys...

The bonus room is getting a balcony overlook into the great room, as well as a bar and a pool table.

Already redid the formal living room, front hall, stairs and second floor hall. Got crown molding over the weekend, once I have my fake miter box made, will be cutting and putting that up. Most likely going to hit the dining room next, wainscoting, crown etc...

Yeah Josh and I never went at it. On the street it probably wouldn't be a terrible race. I have run some 13 second cars before and I don't just walk away from them. Toss those slicks on and I would be playing big time catch up.

Mines down also, rear end is loose and making a ton of noise. I guess throwing the 31 spline carrier and axles in without the right shims would cause that, .

Here is the garage with no lights

Here it is with all the lights on, i suggest putting as much light in there as you possibly can. Ive got tow 8' of the brightest balasts i could buy for the walls, which was under 150 for everything, and a 6' that my uncle gave me cause he had no use for it.

Looks nice, and don't worry about the pictures, I like seeing them.

I plan to light the garage up big time. A friend of mine is a good electrcian and I'm sure in due time he will be at the house putting lights up.

thats cool, me and a friend of myne did it, took probly like 3 hours to do it, we just tapped it into an exsisting outlet from a lightbulb in the cieling. I just had the house/garage insulated for my favorite price and im gonna pick up a little wall mounted heater that will tap right into the houses gas source so i can start tearing into the car this winter

Heated Garage FTW. My father has about 1200 SF of heated garage at his house, made working on my car nice. I will look into it down the road!
