sold my bullitt!!!! here's her replacement coughcoughTWINTURBO

Even "free" it still sucks to make car payments while the car stays in the shop so long. Had a Bronco II set at the dealership for 2 months, under warranty, because they couldn't find the bad injector wiring. And it took 3 dealerships to find the problem.

And 6k doesn't seem too far out of line, for a BMW, because I saw the invoice where the VW stealer charged $2,400.00 back to the "warranty" ...for a blower motor repair on my old VW. A friend paid $2,500.00 for "fuel system repair" on his Jaguar - they replaced 1 tiny piece of fuel hose.

While I agree it sucks to be without your car, but a luxury dealer such as BMW, Benz, Lexus, etc give you a loaner while they have your car, and it wont be a Ford loaner. You get a Lexus loaner.

Hell the Lexus dealer comes to my parents house to pick up my moms car for an oil change, gives her a loaner, and brings hers back when its done fully detailed.

Its a different world working with luxury dealers than a Ford dealer.

Btw what are car payments? :)

IT WILL BE UNDER WARRANTY FOR AS LONG AS I HAVE IT. besides if for any reason it does go into the dealer for anything substantial they'll give me a bmw loaner car...for free...oh darn

thats my exact thoughts...your not gonna get a POS focus as a loaner. If you complain enough and talk to the right people at the dealership you can get what you want done.

thats why i want a new car cause a warranty is super nice.

335 > Bullitt

i see a lot of them around here, then again the plant that makes the z4 and x5 is only 10 miles away, and they all look and sound great... they will really surprise you as to how fast they are... i think it might be as quick as the new M5's... but if you think the 335 is quick... wait till the new M3 comes out.... mmm... v8

How would that matter? Paid off my '02 Mustang (including all the bolt-ons) in 2 & 1/2 years. Had enough money when I sold my Mustang to pay cash for a new '06 (below sticker) GMC 1500 and still had money left over to put into some home repairs. Used the truck for what I needed it for, and sold it for almost exactly what I paid for it. Took that money and bought the "European" software upgrade for my Snap-on MODIS, gave donations to 3 churches and spent the rest as a down payment on the 2005 SRT4 that was bought new in April 2006 - it'll be paid off in April 2008. Unless I get rid of it earlier than that, for a Mustang.

You're not serious, are you? The 335 (turbo 6)is no where NEAR as fast as the M5 (N/A 10).

What's that have to do with luxury dealers giving you a loaner car? Hell, even Hyundai gave us a loaner for 1 day to fix an airbag wiring harness. I had my 04 GT into Ford for days several times to fix the same complaint under warranty and they laughed at me when I mentioned a loaner.

I always love the emotions that come out when someone says they bought a new vehicle that's not a mustang and the comparisons begin.

BTW.....I just bought an 04 Jeep Wrangler....its way better than my mustang was.....

Say what? I am not sure why that is relavent but ok.

All I am saying is you will get a much better dealership experience with a "luxury" brand. They treat their customers better. Even if something happends to his car he will get another one just like it as a loaner to drive until its fixed.

IF ford gave you a loaner it would be a Focus or Taurus

Straight specs here, driver taken out of the equation:

335: (R&T)
HP/TQ: 300/300
Wt: 3815
0-60 5.0
1/4 13.5
top speed: 155 (electronically limited)
Skidpad: .90
Slalom: 68.7

M5: (R&T)
HP/TQ: 500/383
Wt: 4012
0-60 4.1
1/4 12.4
top speed: 155 (electronically limited)
Skidpad: .87
Slalom: 68.9

Now, taken with a grain of salt, the specs show it's not even close.

Nothing - don't know why I was asked about car payments...on a "loaner" response...that I didn't even bring up.

Cars will always be compared - even on the "build your car" section of the Car sites...I always see "compare" sections. I'm expect it to be there.

Sweeeeeeet! :nice:

...and my SRT-4 still feels about 5x more solid than my '02 Mustang - that includes the fact that my Mustang had subframe connectors added...and my "Neon" SRT-4 has four big holes (4 doors) in the body.

Well, charging a Porsche $5,500.00 for fixing a "dirty" fuel system and a Jaguar paying about $2,500.00 for a $3 piece of fuel line/"fuel system repair" - I'm sure the dealers can afford to sling out the red carpet to customers like that.

And my (Ford) dealer loaned me "his" Lincoln once and a nice Supercrew F150 4x4 on another visit. One reason I'm a repeat customer.

Well I am glad you have a good Ford dealer because that is definatly the exception to the rule. But as for the claims of outrageous bills I havent seen any invoiceses so at this point its all speculation.

I know that my mom has not had to pay anything crazy like that for any of her cars (3 lexus, 1 infinit). My buddy also has a jaguar and has never had anything like that either. He had to get a faulty airbag light chased down for free and they wanted $150 to fix it but they told him what needed to be done and he did it for free.

As an aside, what's with all these "...sold my stang, look what I got instead!!" threads?? I like reading these forums to see what people are doing to there stangs and how much they love (and hate sometimes) their Mustangs. I'm not personally interested in hearing about how much better people's new, non-Mustang, cars are. I could have bought a BMW or a Subaru but I didn't because where I live every second car on the road is a BWM, Subaru, Mercedes (rich area)... - I love Mustangs because they are Mustangs and they are also unique. Even people in BMWs turn their heads when they see a Mustang drive by. Sorry for the rant, I just think the conversations should stick to Mustangs not how BMWs or Subarus or whatever are so much better than our cars, if I wanted to read about how great they are I would go onto one of their forums.
