MysteryMachine's Big Block 514 Project

Just put some engine oil or trans fluid in the cylinder bores and shoot some oil in the passage for the initial clean, put on stand and then cover with a big ole trash bag. Then have the shop hot tank then clean all over again. Moroso have some passage brushes for cleaing. It won't rust. Did this myself during my engine build. I rolled mine to the drive way and armed with dish detergent, moroso cleaing brushes and water hose cleaned the block after I got it back from the machine shop - still dirty. Used air compressor to get rid of water and then oil everything up again and covered the block with a big ole trash bag. No problems.

Good luck with the build. A buddy of mine put a FRPP 514 into a '98 like 5 years ago and the car hauled ass! I run into him every now and then, next time I see him I'll see if I can get his email address for you.

That would be great man. Thanks
Go big or go home? :D
We use that motto at the fire house. If we stuck by it we would never leave the station LOL
Nice. You need to make it sound like this one. ;)

you know how I love that vid

You said you wanted to compare timeslips a long time ago and put the smack down on me in a friendly e-grudge. I say we take our times over the course of 2 years and see who has the best average. I think it'll take you 2 years to finish your project. :stick:

awww man for a minute there I thought you were gonna give up and admit defeat lol.

your probably right though on the 2 year build

Nope... never. I've had to upgrade the rest of the car alot already with the power I'm making. You'll have to do even better to get that power to last and get it to the ground where it matters. Not skeered. :D

:nice: on the title.

I can't wait to see how this progresses. You are going to have one mean SOB if this goes as planned! You should talk to Wes about this, too. He was wanting to put together a BB EFI setup. Maybe you could bounce ideas off each other?

dude i saw a 1998 that was the same color as your car with a 460 in it, this past saturday at the World of Wheels car show. he said it was a simple swap, but he was carb.

he hadn't taken it to the track or dyno but he said it was a torque beast on the road.
i want to say he was using early 70s dove heads and a high rise intake that stuck out of is 4in cobra r hood. and he used a c6 as a tranny.

hope your build goes as smoothly as his.

my major problem is gonna be money. I know this right off the bat. Second is not having a garage to do the work in. which is why I'm still looking for a house with a garage. I have even lowered my standard to renting if a can find a good deal on a place with a garage.

Nick no lol. I haven't even touched the block. Been busy browsing ebay for parts though
