Mine are pink, and I was told (but not positive) that they changed em to 21 to accomidate the bigger MAF

Orange are 19lb injectors. Injectors are not mods for hp. You only need to change injectors when you start pushing 100% duty cycle on the injectors you have. Typically, the 19lbers are good for about 300 bhp.

yeah my 2002 has the larger 85mm mass air and integrated air temp sensor which tim is going to relocate a new one for me monday behind my supercharger , but i guess i got stuck with the 19s , anybody know what color the 24s are ?? Main reason I want to know is alot of guys around here run stuff and say its stock when its not , they like to hide their mods and run for money , i wanna be able to tell the heads up guys from the others .

are your injectors aftermarket? cuz my 03' cobra is bone stock right now.or maybe they messed around with the colors.

Mine are definitely FMS injectors. I found the following on Corral.net:
19's - Orange
24's- light blue
30's- Red
36's- Dark blue
38's are Lucas only and are black
42's- Lime Green
42's Lucas are black with a green band

It also appears Ford colored the 03s blue (42lbs) for some reason. I haven't verified this, but it was posted in the same thread. Hope this helps.

dark red frpp injectors ???

my friend has a set of frpp injectors that are a very dark red color. he was trying to tell me that they were 36 lbs. but i have no idea and i dont want to buy them until i figure this out. could some one please tell me waht size they are and how much hp i would be able to use them up to? thanks alot

the ONLY reason the change to larger injectors is a large increase in airflow. big mods where 19lb lean out at high rpm's. if it doesn't lean out where longer pulselength or higher pressure corrects it, then use larger injectors.

cobra injectors are 39's NOT 42's.

42's are green .Not sure on the 39's that are stock in the 03/04 cobras.

Colors vary based on who makes them.My 60's are black and so where my 55's.

if shooting over 300RWHP 30's are recommended.

If you dont have mods like heads or cams.THere is no reason to upgrade injectors or mafs.

Dark Red = 30lb/hr

My 36lb/hr injectors are the olders "fat" style and are dark blue, but I've also seen them in black and white.

As far as Bosch and Ford Racomg injectors go.....

19's

Also, keep in mind, that injectors for an engine with a power adder are going to need to be 1-2 sizes larger than those without, regardless of the horsepower rating.

Ex, 24lb/hr may be alright for a N/A engine making 320-340rwhp range, but an engine with a power adder should pick a 30-36lb/hr injector because of the gain rate accompanied by the additional airflow. Things could get lean in a hurry.

Correct, around mid-02 Ford switched to Pink 21# injectors on the GT

That is not 100% accurate. Tho they switched the colors on *some* of the Mustangs, the flow rate remained 100% the same. They are 19# injectors. You can also verify this by looking at the injector calibration of a Mustang 2V with the pink injector (they are identical to any of the '99-'04 2V calibrations).

BfB is correct, there is no difference between the 19# and 21# injectors (I think they are actually 23#), they're the same Bosch injector. The flow rating, which is given by Ford at a fuel pressure of 44 psi (or somewhere around that), was changed based on the change from return style systems to returnless. In 2002 the electrical connection changed when Bosch switched from the EV-1 style to the EV-6. Other than electrically, they retain the same capacity and spray cone pattern. As others have pointed out, the flow rating is completely contingent upon fuel pressure. However it is not linear due to physics , you cannot double fuel pressure and expect a 21# injector to behave like a 42# injector. Yes, fuel will increase but it will not come close to doubling.

I've actually heard this same thing about the 39lb/hr injectors used on the '03-'04 Cobra's and the 42lb/hr injectors used on the '99-04 Lightning. Although they're designated different sizes, they actually have the same flow rates as one and other. Anyone know for certain?
