Drivetrain Is The Manual Transmission Reliable?

Ha ha! I love MY stripe and everything about the car! Well, except for the lack of automatic headlights.... I had a 1996 Chevy Beretta and automatic headlights were standard. On the Mustang, I have nearly all of the options, but no automatic headlight? WTF?

Oh, and the transmission is holding up fairly well. It was getting difficult to shift when it was 10 below...

I think I have the HIDs. I am truly not sure.

My headlight switch has 3 settings and no fog lights. I saw a YouTube video and it looks like I can swap the switch out, to make it work, but I'm not too sure about that.

Hmmm....well, the switch isn't too expensive so, it might be worth a try though, I'd be curious why Ford would put a light sensor in cars w/o this option. Little things do change. My car has Tech, HID, blah blah, everything so, I'm not always sure what other option loads get.

...and use trim tools, not goddamn car key to pop the switch, cheez, video guy's an amateur....:)

Haha. That's one of the things that made me worried if it would work.

The only other thing different about the switch is that it is for fog lights too. That's my best guess why I don't have automatic headlights.

I didn't look up the price before now. $25 is not bad. I'm going to have to research it a little more and try it out.

I'm looking to buy my first Mustang. My first Ford actually. I'm seriously considering the 2014 v6 w/ the 6-speed manual transmission.

After a very little amount of research, I found out that the manual transmission is made in China. Now I'm very pro Buy American, but this raises more concerns for me that just that. I'd love to buy the car even with the transmission being made in China. The engine is made just a few minutes from my home town. What worries me is the reliability. I had a Chevy with a 3.1 made in the USA, and a couple of my friends had the 3.4 which is very similar, but made in China. The 3.1 was by far more reliable. Also, I have read a few posts on here that say that they have had a couple issues with their manual transmission in their v6.

My question is, what would you do? If you you have a v6 w/ a manual transmission and could go back in time, would you change it to the automatic? In general what do you think about the quality?

Thanks.
After everything I've read Id go with an auto. They are apparently a very tough trouble free tranz.
