I actually have an 02. This is my screenname from back in the day when I had a 97. Ford racing has a nodular iron flywheel that weighs 21 lbs, which is lighter than their steel flywheel...? Is this what I should get or a straight factory replacement? I had planned on replacing the clutch fork, piliot bearing, tob, cable and quadrant as well.
I would go with either the lighter flywheel or the factory one.. Aluminum ones are nice too but they are pricey I had both the centerforce DF and the king cobra clutch in my 01.. In fact I replaced the DF because whoever installed it for the previous owner did not do a good job. Whatever you go with take a good look at the pivot ball and clutch fork pocket in the bellhousing and replace the TOB.. either clutch will work fine for you so I would go with whatever fits your budjet.. BTW your 97 has a 10.5 clutch not the 11 inch clutch
