I read your post on lowering your' dynamic compression raito on a centri suupercharged engine via cam profile .... Very interesting. Here is my situation. I have a 2.6 KB currently running a 10 psi on a 2006 4.6 3V. I am in the process of building a 5.3 boss stroker engine. I'm keeping the static compression ratio at 9.25:1, close to stock. The problem is, that with the current pulley setup, what was 10psi of boost will drop down to 7 to 8 psi due to the displacement increase. So instead of being able to pump out a max of 19 psi, 16 to 17 psi is as much as I will be able to get out of it. So your' post started me thinking ... It seems like lowering the dynamic compression ratio would create a little more backpressure on the exit side of the supercharger, potentially increasing the boost. Is this true? It also seems like this would reduce pre det at lower rpm levels, allowing one to run a little higher boost on pump gas. Is this true? How well would this work on a screw type SC opposed to a centri type sc? Finally, do you know if VT does any custom 3 valve cam grinding?
