I am practicing on sheet metal. I got a fender from a local body shop. I'm trying differant settings. This is the welder I have.

I was told to use Stargon because I am welding sheetmetal fenders, because it is thin metal.

I did not want to hijack your thread. I am practicing welding with the mig welder on sheet metal fenders. Man--- I didn't think it would be so difficult. I blowing holes, popping, looks like crap.I tried tuning down the voltage and raised the wire feed speed. Still get some popping but it seems its working a little better. The weld I am trying to accomplish is butt welding 2 piecwe of sheet metal together. That's where I have difficulty with blowing holes through. My tacks look awful. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm using .025 wire w/ stargon shielding.
