Had a run in w/ a J-Body leaving Hooters....
Yeah, so I'm on my way home from Hooters, and I'm in my mom's 99 Camry w/ a 3.0 V6, and I'm at the light at Wickham and Eau Gallie. I decided to try to manually shift the gears, so I put it in Low while I'm still stopped. Light turns green and I take off. Needless to say, it gets up a bit quicker. While I was headed towards the light at Aurora & Wickham, there is this car riding my butt, then switches to the right lane. We are both lined up at the light. I had the feeling he wanted to race me. I didn't put the car in Low gear to shift thru, tho I should have, so the light turns green and he floors it and after the second it took me to realize he was serious, I floored it too. His Sunfire was obviously a stick, and I was a few inches a head of him.. he shifted and he barely moved forward, but when I hit 2nd, I just started walking him.
I had all the windows down and I was watching him just fade away. It was funny. I had about 2 car lengths on him and I turned on the Hazard lights to let him know that I know I just won. He flashed his brights to acknowledge. We got to the light at Lake Washington and Wickham, he was in the right lane, and he was turning east down L.W. and he gave me a thumbs up and a smile, which I thought was rather sportsman like of him, so it was cool. So yea, there's my kill.
If I were in the Probe.. he would have owned me.
Good thing mom's outta town.
