sweet looking, i was wondering if you had to run any wheel spacers, and do you think a bfg drag radial 325/50/15 would fit alright. thanks.....

I didn't have to run any spacers for my setup, but there's only 1/2" between the inside of the tire and the exhaust tailpipe. I'd imagine a 325/50/15 might need a spacer to keep it front touching the tailpipes and you might risk rubbing on the fender. If you have dumps, then you may not need a spacer.

I don't know yet whether or not I'll be at the Power Festival. If nothing else is going on, I'll definitely be there!

So if I was to get 275/40 tires on 18" rim my ABS and TC would be non-functional???

Ditto! But mods first, hood later. ;)

God damn, forget Cobra R's, I'm getting Welds!!
Seriously though, I just realized how good that looks. Plus they are alot cheaper than the larger wheels.

Could I run your same set up on my 96 GT? I don't want it to be a drag car...just a daily driver with the drag car look. ;) What would you recomend and what is everything I need?

Not to mention 15" tires are a LOT cheaper than 17" or 18" tires!!!!!!!! Pep Boys 165R15 tires are $25/ea and the 295/50/15's are $74/ea.

96-98 should use the same spacings and measurements. 15x8 needs 5.5" backspacing, 15x10 needs 6.5" backspacing. The 15x10's really fill out the wheel well much more nicely than the 15x8's.

did you have to run longer wheel studs on the front rims.

Yes you should run long wheel studs on the front. I currently only have a few converted to long studs as of right now since my drill bit took a crap in the middle of the job. So far I'm okay on the stock studs, but you better be sure I'm going to replace the rest of them for long studs. There's only a few threads holding the lug nuts on with the 7/16" spacer and the skinnies.

Looks very nice man. Thinking of getting some 17x6 prostars fronts and 16x10s for the rear with DRs for street and track duty. Main reason im afraid of skinnies is the braking. My uncles prowler has little bitty tires on the front and it doesnt stop worth a crap and yours are even smaller. People drive crazy around here :D

Looks great :nice:

hey kurgan, would you think that your setup would rub against my exhaust? I have magnapacks. Would spacers move the 295 tire out too much?
I don't know if it would rub up against your exhaust or not. I have 2.5" flow tubes and with the 15x10 wheels having the 6.5" backspacing, my rear tire is about 1/2" away from rubbing the exhaust. If you were to get the same wheel and tire combination and used a spacer, it wouldn't look that great, and you might face an issue with rubbing on the fender. The 6.5" backspacing is important because it keeps the tire from sticking out beyond the fender flare on our cars.

Hey guys im buying a set of 15x10 prostars but i wanted to know what size drage radial i should run. I want to get the m/t DRs and the closest size they have i believe is a 275/50/15. would that still look as good as yours kurgan??
