I have a 97GT and i have started installing a set of 02PI Expedition Heads 5.4L. Well the heads are on and I am trying to install the timing chain cover and for some reason some of the old bolts are too small and they dont fit in the heads. I was wondering if someone can please help me out get the right size. I talked to Randy and he helped me out a lot. But I need more of the bolts (the two sided bolts). I guess other accessories attach to the other side.

I have attached a pic, but I have more if you would like to see.

THanks

Your old heads are 8mm the new bolts are 10mm. There is a kit you can buy from ford that has the right studs etc...PM 96mustangjames he just bought this kit maybe he has the part #. I just got some 10mm bolts to make mine work

Thanks. I will do that. I got some 10mm bolts but its a tight fit. I was told to get 10mm with 1.5pitch and 55mm in length. Is that what you got? Thats what i got and its a very tight fit, so hopefully it wont cause a problem.

The two sided bolts (studs) are Ford p/n N808140-S309 and the standard Ford 10mm bolts for the swap are p/n N808142-S309. The studs come in a package of two and the bolts come in threes. I have two new studs and five new 10mm bolts left over from my swap, pm me if you need them.

does the head changing kit come with the bolts needed. i have 2000 pi heads and am getting the swap done next week.

if your referring to the 8 or 10mm bolts we are talking about then no, they do not come with the kit. atleast mine didnt that i ordered through my local ford dealership.

I was told I would need all those 10mm bolts when I was doing My head swap (96 engine with 02 pi heads) Well i spent 25.00 on the stuff and never needed any of them :notnice: All of my orginal stuff went right back were it came out of.
