I totally get what your sayin man but when people beat frickin things into the ground like hating eleanor its just frickin lame. why dont they stop bitchin and just ignore it. if its not their cup of tea then so be it.

*EDIT* I guess im just a big fan of people enjoying this hobby and enjoying others views on the hobby rather than others bashing what people do with their cars.

I hear ya. I too am a big fan of people enjoying this hobby (except the $helbanore, or the $R) but I also like to give my opinion (and I'm tired of hearing about clones of a clone ;) ). I think Hop likes to post about Elenore just to get these kind of reactions :D Who knows

:nice: But Looking at what others have done to their cars,
Lets you know what you don't want to do to yours or viseversa. :)

Just a Thought.

Now now. I TRULY do not aspire to get any hostile reactions or confrontations from or between the pro- or anti Eleanor crowd. I know the predominance, okay , the entirety , of my threads are Eleanor related. And I submit them with the full knowledge that they will envoke a minimum of three downright insults . However , friends and colleagues , it is not my intention to be a catalyst for these disputes. I simply posted a " hey yall, check out this black Eleanor". Chelle had a very respectable anti-Eleanor post. Her opinion is that its ugly. I dont like a 1975 Buick Le Sabre. To me, its ugly. If Chelle had one, I doubt she would wish to ream me for said opinion. Can a negative opinion go too far? Why yes, of course. Confrontation is borne when cumulative insults and personal jabs enter into the picture. Like the one about me only wanting to start a fight. Gentlemen ( and lady). I choose diplomacy until diplomacy fails. It just eludes me how a slight modification to a car can breed such fervor. The defense rests .

Hop, I didn't mean it in a negative way. I am sorry if it came across like that. My original reply to this thread was just a smart azz comment, not bashing. And the comment you quoted was also said in jest. I apologize if it came across as anything else.

Aww I kinda knew where you stood. I didnt really think you were lambasting me. Im glad you and Golf didnt pull out the boxing gloves. He looks like Hans from Die Hard and may be dangerous. :rlaugh: Golf, you HAVE to rent that! In all honesty, the rise in emotion on Eleanor threads is okay, as long as nobody becomes mortal enemies. Nobody minds a heated discussion, but I dont want to be responsible for someones trip to the i.c.u. , over a thread. I know that Im going to get dinged occasionally for being the primary Eleanor advocate here, and especially for making her with a real 67 GT 500 , I just asked not to be all out assaulted.

Some people shoud just agree that they disagree.

I saw those pics a long time ago when I ordered my Eleanor front end from them. Personally I don't care for the black Eleanor. Traction bars are gay, and white trash to me. The car sits up way too high as some have mentioned, and the color black on that car with the body kit just is not flashy enough for me anyway. I like the red one a lot. That thing on e-bay - :notnice: the rims ruined that car, and the front end does not look right half Eleanor, half Shelby.

Just my opinion. :nice:

How about the project 65 Eleanor kit ?

We don't ALL agree and I think that's why people "piped" up about it. Without this statement there may not have been as many negative comments. IMO.

Dude, that opening line was quite sarcastic. Everyone knows Im the target for the Eleanor shots here, and now , like most, it seems we are keeping it all in good humor . As was my statement. Good humor. A high percentage of this board do not like the Eleanor concept.

:worship: ELEANOR

Beat you ALL to it by 20 Years.....

And she's TOPLESS to boot!

I built this car 20 years ago! Beat ALL you wannabees to it by two Decades!! First finished in 1983, then a mechanical re-do in 1986. Back then, none of the stuff was easy to find!

Just thought I'd toss this in!!

(I will not comment otherwise, I've said enough before on this topic!)

The Deceiver

Thanks for the compliment!

since that photo was taken, I changed to the Shelby Underrides Traction Bars. Car was a killer piece, way ahead of it's time! Lots of suspension, engine, interior work on top of the Shelby-ized body! Unfortunately, sold in 1990 to buy my first house. And I STILL miss it!!!

I'll post a pic tonight of how it started! I bought that stang (my first) in 1976!

I like the black eleanor, but I'm also a fan of the fastbacks/gt's/eleanor clones.

The red one looks good too, however with the way I drive, I could never paint a car red. I feel paint as robust as that would draw too much attention from the police if you know what I mean...

I dunno why so many people get there panties all up in a bunch over eleanors. I can understand someone getting alittle angry if someone was to make a original 67/68 GT-350/500 into a eleanor, but if it's just a plain jane fastback, who cares.

Id have to say most people in here will agree to enjoying listening to gone in 60 seconds with a nice surround sound home theater. Shaking the kitchen dishes with a roaring v8. No matter how much fiberglass body kit that car had it sounds nice! :nice:

Btw, I like the black n silver stipe paint scheme, not too shure about the rest of the car though.
