Just trying to see what kinda results people are seeing from thier heads.
I have a set currently on my stang & I'm a little less that satisfied with the
performance. So if you could please your 1/4 miles times & MPH with your mods
as well as any dyno results i'd really appreciate it!

Thanks all
Mike

P.S.
I also included a poll for your overall impression of thier performance.

[email protected], 3300# with me in it and on street tires. rpm intake, TFS stage 1 cam, and 60379 heads. No dyno tuning yet, so I think there may be more in it. I figure with slicks it should be good for around a 12.7 or so at that mph.

I love the heads so for :nice:

What injectors & gears are you running? T-5 or Auto?

I'm just really disappointed with the performance of mine...I was expecting the same kinda MPH your getting from them:shrug:

Great job on the MPH/ET using street tires:nice:...

Hey Mike,,

On my blue 88 that you like, I had stock box Edelbrock performers with a box stock Performer intake, comp cam, shortie header, 24# injectors,Tremec,Nitto DR's and 73's. I ran a best of 13.01 at 108-109 range. And that was done the way you see it in the pics on my web page. Plus race weight was 3550 with me in it.... I think there was more in it, but I ened up selling the car before getting it back to the track...

I got Performer RPM and i did 310RWHP.1 and only time to track best 12.38 only 107.5 MPH but had fuel pressure issues.Next time out hoping for 11s.They are not the best heads out there but i think they are the best bang for your buck....Good Luck

3550 with you in it?Im trying to estimate the weight of my 88.Are the T Top cars heavy like verts. How much do u weigh....Sorry to get off the subject

I built a motor for my uncle using the performer R.P.M. Heads with the 2.02-1.60 valves. It is in a 65 Mustang fastback with a T-5 and 3.80 gears. The engine is 306 cubic inches and has D.S.S. Forged flattop pistons. A Comp Cams extreme energy 274 hydraulic roller with .555-.565 lift. Edelbrock R.P.M. Intake and 750 c.f.m. Edelbrock carb. It dyno'ed at 320 h.p. and 310 torque to the rear wheels. The heads were out of the box just bolted on. I think it did all right considering there was no port work done at all. The car also had Mac 1 5/8" long tube headers and a 2 1/2" mac exhaust system. There is no 1/4 mile times yet.

Well it sounds like everyone is getting the kind of performance I would expect out of them...

I wonder if it has anything to do with my cam selection, I have a couple problems I know I need to fix but I can't see it causing a loss of 3-4 mph.

I guess I was expecting it to really rip but it doesn't.I was thinking the cam I chose is leaving alot on the table.
It's a Steeda # 19 with 1.7's (220/226 on a 115lsa .512ish lift). The cam is really smooth idle wise & has a real smooth power curve & it pulls all the way to the limiter just fine but I'm worried it is to mild...

24lb., 3.73's, and t-5.

keep working at it, I was running 101mph the first 3 times to the track. It was all in the timing for me.

You know I really can't tell you what the timing is on . My timing pointer is wrong. I made 6 passes at the track yesterday and adjusted the timing up just a hair and my slips didnt change, I lowered it and jumped up 2mph. I tried lower and it just went 1mph slower. I must be around 14-15 I suppose.

I had 87 octane in it at the time I ran 107.8mph so maybe with a little more octane I'll pick up some more power.

Another change I made was I went from longtube headers w/ a x-pipe to shortys with a h-pipe. I had a previous best of 105mph with the lt's and x. I thought I would lose power but I guess not.

My buddy has a 93 GT w/ old style 6037 heads, cobra intake, b-cam, longtubes, 3.73s, stock injectors, t-5 and weighs 3300#. He went 12.40s@109mph

That heavy HUH..I have a 88 GT also and figured it weighed 3350 with me in it.Im a buck 75...

Your car might weigh that, just have to weigh it.. When I took mine to the track I ran it the way I drive it on the street. I didn't have welds or anything removed, this was a daily driver.

one of my friends ran 11.7 at 119 with edelbrock 6025 heads and 7lbs of boost on the kennybell with dyno results of 401 hp at the wheels aat 10lbs of boost before the heads and bigger maf the times were 12.9 at 110 very happy with edelbrock heads also all this with stock bottom end and stock cam with 1.7 rockers except for higher volume oil pump and this car was street driven everyday

I always take a look and ask questions about combos I see at the track. I don't see any differences at the track based on aluminium head brands. A couple guys run AFR's with Ed Curtis Cams and both are trying to break into the 12's. I admit the sample is small for such generalizations, but that is what I have observed at the two tracks I attend.

Today i made 287rwhp/310ftlbs STD corrected with Performer heads (60379) out of the box, cobra intake manifold, C&L MAF, pullies, shorty headers, full mac exhaust, stock cam, stock TB, this going thru a tremec 3550 trans. Thats with only 7* of timing and running dangerously lean 17.5 A/F the thing was pinging like a mother ****er. Cant wait to get some 30lb injectors and comp cam put in.
