I've been working on putting a 2001 SOHC 4.6L into my 96 over the past 2 months in my free time.

Tonite I finally got to start it! My tech question is:
I didn't have the right size belt though, I used the 01 Water Pump, and my Steeda water pump pulley was sticking out too far. So I used the stock WP pulley so the belt would align correctly. However, I'm still using the Steeda Alt. and Crank pulley's

Does anyone know what size belt I will need for this correction? Its an 01 Motor (2 idler pulleys) but still using the stock WP pulley and using the Steeda crank, and alt. pulleys

I turned the motor over a few times with no spark to lubricate everything, then jumped the dead battery with my blazer and it fired up first try

On a side note: Open MAC LT Headers in a closed garage is DEAFENING!

I'll be getting a belt tomorrow, and driving it to the exhaust shop to put on my H pipe and dronemasters!!

Man I miss this car!

:( i miss my 98 now :( but nice car man  , but with that pic of your car in this thread i don't think your going to get a bunch of answers, more of people drooling over your car :D

btw - i agree with wipeout, just go to a ford shop & ask for the right belt :nice:

Contact Steeda and get the correct water pump pulley that goes with the 01 motor. I have all 3 Steeda pullies on with a stock size belt and have experienced no probs. The tensioner pulley allows for a little slack to be taken up so I think you should be fine with a stock sized belt.

The Steeda pulley from my 96 that I tried to put on the WP stuck out too far, I suppose I'll need to get ahold of Steeda and tell them I need the WP Pulley for an 02-03???

Why do you think a stock sized belt will work? Is the Stock WP Pulley the same size as the Steeda WP pulley? I don't think so, so the stock belt will not work
