Ok im in need of some opinions. My car is a 1999 GT. Its a 5 speed and all it has done are flowmaster mufflers. Im looking to add some more stuff to it but i need some opinions on parts and such. I want a prochamber because im not really into the x pipe thing and ive heard the prochamber in person. I just want to know about the quality from those who have installed one on their own. I also want to know which gears you think i should get. Im torn between the 3.73's and the 4.10's. Everyone says dont fear the gear but what is your gas mileage with the 4.10's ( with a somewhat docile right foot). Im also looking at the densecharger set up. Im thinking full system from the throttle body but again i want to hear yall's opinions on quality, gain, etc. Thanks for all your help. Sorry its so many questions in one post i just didnt want to flood the board with like 80 post's. Thanks
Matt

everyone will tell you about mac's products rusting, but i never had that problem at all  (the mods to my old car are in my signature) i liked it so much, that i'm putting the same setup on my new car :D
as for the 4.10's, you will love them :nice: if you can keep your foot off the gas after you get them, you will notice very little, or no difference in milage. the key is being able to keep your right foot off the gas, & not through the floor :D i actually got 300 per tank after full exhasut & the gears so i was pretty happy with it :nice:
i never had a denscharger, but that looks like a good way to go. just don't get a metal one, like a mac, because they actually conduct heat

Noone else wants to chime in? I really just need someone who has owned a densechargers opinion. I cant decide between that and a c and l set up. The only downfall to that would be that it costs muchos denero(sp?). Thanks again.

Longtubes scare me though. LOL.
And you don't like X pipes -
why  they're FN awesome -
pm me your e-mail address, and I'll change your mind. :nice:

If you plan to s/c your car go with 373's. If you plan to stay n/a get 4.10's.

IMO I'd stick w/ 373's anyways. High rpm on the highway :notnice:
Steeda shifter is a necessity too. You'll understand once you start driving with one. :hail2:

Thanks for the reply. I really dont do that much highway driving so thats not really a problem. And I definately had already planned on the steeda tri ax, i just have to wait till i get my transmission fixed from the dealer. I whines when i drive. Im more into the deep muscle car sound which is why I really like the prochamber. I just think it sounds awesome. But im definately goin to pm you my email so i can hear yours. Thanks again for the reply. And also thanks to the one who suggested the 3.90's.

I have 4.10's in my 96. If you are doing mostly city driving get the 4.10's or 3.90's. My mileage actually is better during city driving than the 3.27's were. I have a Mac h-pipe and it really sounds pretty good with the stock muffs but I don't know how much louder you like the exhaust. It depends on the type of Flowmasters you have whether it would be too much with just an H. Most opinions on CAI's are you don't gain anything. I gained a mile per gallon with just a K&N in both my Expedition and Mustang. With a fenderwell set-up (I originally had the chrome Mac CAI from the fenderwell to the throttle body but it would get too hot so I pulled out the piece from the MAF to the TB and went back to the stock piece) on my Mustang the throttle response was a little better than just the K&N so there is a little to be said for any CAI set-up. The Tri-ax is an excellent shifter but so is the Pro 5.0 so take your pick there.

The only down side I have ever heard is the "drone" might be a little louder with 4.10's when your on the highway....personally that would be music to my ears!

actually, it makes the drone much less loud. because it takes it out of the 2000 rpm at 70 to about 2400 :D it drones at about 55 after the gears

Well i "think" my flowmasters are just the 3 chambers but they were on the car when we bought it. I need to jack it up and find out exactly what kind they are. Thanks again. 4.10's are looking better and better...

I have 373s and mac prochamber, love them both. Only problem with 390s is that ford doesnt make them, so you might be taking a chance with them. The companies that do make them are pretty good and have not heard much bad stuff. As for the desencharger, don't waste your time, save up and get the full C&L setup, you will do this eventually, so just do it right the first time, I got the plenum, MAF, shield, filter, and inlet tube for $600. Sounds pricey but the gains are unbeatable.

What do you plan on doing in the "long run"?

If you want to stay Naturally Aspirated (N/A) then dont' fear the gear! If you are thinking of adding a Power Adder (P/A) then you should be more conservative on the gear. More like a 3.73 would be max. They put out tons of torque and HP and you might run out of gear with a 4.10. Any gear you put in at this point will feel great the first time you take off from a stand still. Your choice is really what you plan to do in the long run and if you want to "redo" it.

Hope that helps you some!

Mods are in my sig. I like my current setup except for the rust problem Ive been having. I'm still working on resolving it. Its hard to work on your car at all in this cold weather. Anyhow, Im planning on staying n/a and Im going with 4.30 gears very soon. :nice:

Well seeing as im only 16 (flame away at the "your going to wreck speech") My dad is a major item in the upgrade section. I am paying the car payment though but you know how that goes. My dad grew up in the big block torque N/A era so he likes it normally aspirated. I mention superchargers to him sometimes but "that tears too much stuff up" which is true. Not to mention i wont be able to afford one for quite a while. ANYWHO, Once the transmission thing is taken care of, a tri ax will be put on the car. Then im thinking about either the midpipe( im at such a loss on which one to get) or the 4.10's. Once again thanks to everyone for all the help.

Since you have a five speed, Ide say to get the gears first. All you will need is a speedcal from www.brothersperformance.com to set the speedo correct. I would have done gears first in my car but its an auto and I will need an ECU Flash or chip whenever I change gears. Therefore, Ive waited until I had all my other parts first.
