Do you HAVE to pull the plenum off to change the injectors on 99+ Cobras? Looks like the Throttle body and Plenum sit right on top of the fuel rail. Also, if you pull the plenum off, is the gasket a re-usable gasket? Thanks!
Anytime I have swapped injectors on my cobra I always take the upper plenum off, and yes the gasket is re-usable.
What did you have done to your trans am, sounded like a pretty sick car
No, the 99+ cars have a different intake then the earlier cobras. I didnt not have to remove the intake. You will have to remove the intake tube, but othetr than that its a snap.
You will need harness adapters if you have the pencil style injectors and are going to normal bosch style. I think Maximum Motorsports sells them.

I run a 99 cobra motor in my 96 cobra. If you didn't remove the upper plenum cover how did you get the fuel rail out from underneath the passenger side where the throttle body is? For me I just find it easier to just remove the seven upper plenum bolts and the egr nut, in a minute you have it off and there is plenty of room to remove and install fuel rails.
I swapped out my injectors in 30 minutes without removing the intake. The fuel rail does not come out. You don't need it out. You just need to pull it up far enough to remove the injector. Not hard at all. You do not have to remove the intake. Do it if you want to though.
