I'm swapping my T-5 to a TKO. Does anyone know if the stock clutchfork and dust cover will fit the TKO bellhousing. I also have a zoom clutch, will that work with the TKO imput shaft or will I have to get a new clutch too, and can I use the same driveshaft yoke or does the TKO have different splines. Has anybody done this swap that can help?

Its just a standard Tremec bellhousing. Its the exact same as the T5 bell but the bolt holes are different. Fork is fine but get a HD one for 40 bucks since yours is old anyways. Also, you just need a standard new style diapragm clutch that most newer cars use including Mustangs. The only catch is the finer spline count. You dont even need to change the pressure plate. Just swap out the disc for a 26 spline 10.5 inch disc. Also, you need to change the output yoke on the driveshaft as you probably know. Do it yourself or get it done for 15 bucks at a driveshaft shop. If you are going to get an aluminum shaft, you can get them with the TKO spline already on them, and it doesnt cost anymore. Lastly, you dont need a fancy shifter with stops because Tremecs already have built in stops in the tranny.

Really Timmy, nobody here knew that about the shifters. I think thats pretty obvious. And when you buy the aluminum driveshaft, you just tell them its for a TKO, you dont have to say anything about a Mod motor. Its funny when I told someone to get a Pro 5.0 shifter, you bitched and said they dont need it because it already has internal stops. But you want a beefy stick anyways, besides the stops. Then when I mention that the stops arent needed because the Tremec has stops, you say they should buy a Pro 5.0. Which one is it? Its pretty obvious if the car is going to be shifted aggressively a shifter should be bought to handle the stress, and because they have shorter throws. But some shifters come with stops which may not be needed because of the internal stops of the tranny. But I'd rather wear on an external shifter nut, then some mechanism inside my tranny. I think thats what the designer was going for when they offered the Pro 5.0 for tremecs with the stops. Why dont you come up with your own thoughts instead of trying to knitpick at other peoples thoughts. I only mentioned not necessarily needing the stops, but its obvious a shifter should still be employed. Hell, if he can make the shifts, he should keep the stock shifter on there and save the 200 bucks. I've driven 12 second muscle cars with 2 foot shifters practically. They are sloppy and worn, but I didnt miss a shift and could hit a gear faster than most people can blink an eye. Its annoying when say people need all these minor mods that cost so much money. There are mods that help marginally, arent absolutely necessary, but really add to the bill of a car. I would include the electric fan, aluminum shafts, shifters, and aluminum valve covers as these. They are nice to have but dont necessarily improve much or make the car go much faster.

OK putts, please show me an ad for an aluminum drivbeshaft that says its for a TKO. They are either for mod motors or push rod motors.

Oh and an FYI, the tremec shifter DOES have stops built into the shifter. But you already knew that, so why does it matter?

yeah, those are for 96 to 02 4.6L and they cost 15 bucks more, but he has a 5.0 mustang. When you order the 5.0 one you just say its for a TKO and it comes with the finer spline yoke, ddperformance.com. Stop using these forums to try and one up people.

Dude, stop acting like an idiot. I just explain it to you. There are 2 different types of shafts obviously. The standard AOD/T5/3550 shaft, and then the TKO/MOD shaft. Go to Summit and they will charge you $15 more for the TKO/MOD shaft, but if you go to DDperformance.com they wont charge you more. I already explained this to you but I guess you cant read. When I called them, I said I needed a shaft but I just need to get the yoke changed out when it gets here. They said dont worry, they already supply them with the TKO yoke already on. I asked him how much more that was and he said nothing. Dont make this like rocket science. And lighten up on the analness. You dont need to come on here and check everybody's automotive math because maybe you have nothing better to do. I dont have time to dot every i for everyone here, but they get the point. I find it very annoying that everytime I post you try to correct me even though what I said was correct. By being so anal your telling people they are too stupid to understand what you are saying. Maybe people here understand just fine and you dont have to try and flex your brain on everybody. Your not impressing me and quite frankly its really annoying when you only post to correct others or "modify" what they say. How about you just speak for yourself and make your own comments. I'm not trying to make enemies on here but you seem to cut down everything I say and you post right after me everytime like a book nerd poking his glasses. I work 80 hours a week fixing jet engines, and dont have time to post every decimal and part number, but I only post when I know what Im talking about. I've built 3 Mustangs now and have a stupidly fast car now, so why dont you bicker with some people how have no idea what they are talking about. And we both know there are a lot of them.

timmy, oh timmy, i see your like me. your super anal and like to comfort your inadaquacies by nit picking at others over petty crap. its a shame your in queens because we would probably get along. I bet your the type of guy that would let me poke you in the butt, and i wouldn't even have to give you a reach around.
