H-Pipe and LT Headers (Help)

I already ordered the MAC Cat Back exhaust system, and was about to order the H-Pipe and LT Headers. Would this make it a nice throaty sound? What would be the difference in sound and performance with the H-Pipe with the cats, and the H-Pipe without the cats?

Getting the kit as a whole will make a big difference in sound. It will sound awesome. The MAC kits are generally the best ones out there, most V6'ers like thier sound best although it is personal preference. But it is a great system.

Performance wise, you may just think about staying with the shorties unless you just want longtubes. The difference in performance is minimal based on the application.

So no matter what I get LT or shorties, they are gonna sound the same, but with performance wise I want to get shorties?

Ok, what is the difference between the H-Pipe with the cats and without the cats, performance wise and sound wise.

I heard that if you get all the cats taken off then it flows better which makes for better performance. We have 4 cats on our cars, I was going to get all of them taken off but the guy at the muffler shop told me that emission test were coming back this year so he told me to leave the top two of them on so I would pass. If you wanted to, you could get them gutted and it would look like you have them but actually you don't. I hope I helped you out a little here. Oh ya, I am not sure about the sound but I think its a little louder without them.

Ok, I'm running into a money shortage, so if I just get the headers and not the H-Pipe, that will still make a nice throaty sound with the MAC shorty headers, and the cat back exhaust system, right?

no...the h-pipe is what'll make it sound better. I have this setup, mac catback, offroad h-pipe, no I only took out 2 cats, not all four, and at low rpms it sounds REALLY good, of course not as throaty as a V8 but pretty damn good. Now once you pass 3500 rpms it just sounds like total crap. So if you can keep it under 3500 you'll be 100% satisfied w/ the sound. The headers are not gonna make any sound difference, and IF you get any better performance with them, its very minimal.

I took 2 out of the 4 cats out. It is illegal, big fine actually, but I live in Florida, no emission tests. If I could go back and do it again I would've kept the cats on, or gotten the h-pipe with the cats. The 6 cylinder doesn't sound very well without the cats. Get the H-pipe with the cats, you're better off that way.
