For about the last month I have been contemplating the idea of getting a nitrous set up for my 2000 GT. The setup I am looking at is a

1. NX dry kit #20922 (I will try to use atleast a 100 shot if not a lttle more)
2. Gen X2 Kit (Bottle heater, purge, blowdown tube, fuel pressure safety switch, pressure guage and releif valve)
3. RPM window switch 3k-6k
4. NGK TR6 plugs 0.35 gap

My question is

How safe is this setup on a non forged block?
I was told I shouldn't need a tune with this setup is that true?
Is my stock fuel system setup to handle this?
Are there any other concerns I should have running nitrous?

My mods are in my sig to help with an answer

Thanks in advance

I am probably going to try a 125 or 150 shot 1st then I will read the plugs and if they dont look right I can always back it down to 100. As far as tune I will probably tune it as best I can with the help of friends, who have been running nitrous for about 15 years and know alot more about it than I do. Then if we cant seem to get it right then I will install a flip chip with a custom tune and if an inline fuel pump if neccesary. I wasnt really looking for the added expense for a tune and chip.

Thanks for the info

I would not use a 125 or 150 shot first. Start with the smallest one and then work your way up. I would also say for you to look at the Venom kits. I use it and I love it. It is completely programable and actually ties into your O2 sensors and if you start running lean it will vut the nitrous off. It is the kit that Nitrous pete and a few others are using on their 03 Cobra's

What Venom Kit do you have?
What was the install like?
What plugs do you have to run?
What safety features are in the system? (window switch, blowdown, etc)

Sorry for all the questionss, I just need to be sure

OK the install took about half a day and fairly simple. The hardest part ended up being the instalation of the tank. I have the VCN-1000 but I have installed the VCN-2000 they are about the same to install however the 2000 is a lot nicer and that is the one you can program. The VCN-1000 has its own computer that ties into the TPS so it knows what your throttle position is at an it can read WOT through the voltage it ties into your O2 sensors to read the air/fuel ratio and it also ties into each fule injector to supply additional fuel. There is no fuel solenoid it uses your stock injectors and has worked very well for me I have ran an 11.8 wih a 125 shot. You adjust the shot by changing nozzles. There is no blow dwn tube with the kit but those are universal. I am using Autolite racing plugs that are 2 steps colder than stock. Hope this helps

I have the NOs dry kit (05116) and comes with a lot on nice features. A window switch and wot switch is important. Also I'm running a 100 shot and I need to upgrade my fuel pump because I'm running a lillte lean on the high end. So if your going with more than a 100 shot then I reccomend a new fuel pump, and larger injectors or your going to run lean. Then get it tuned.
