From the site:
An SLP exclusive, this unit is designed to fit all 1999-2003 4.6 SOHC Mustangs. Here's how it works: Press the brake pedal and flip the brake-control solenoid switch. Remove your foot from the pedal, and the solenoid maintains line pressure to the front brakes until the switch is released. This makes it easy to heat the rear tires in the burnout box, while minimizing wear and tear on your car's rear brake components. You can also use the system to prevent a manual-trans car from rolling out of the staging beams at the starting line.

This kit is custom-fitted to the Mustang chassis (no tweaking or fabrication required!) and is fully compatible with the factory anti-lock braking and traction-control systems. It includes a waterproof electrical solenoid, an activation switch, plug-in wires, CNC-bent steel lines with correct OE fittings, mounting hardware, and detailed installation instructions.

Its a line lock. lol Invest in some cheap tires after buying that thing

I know its a linelock :D
I already have BFG Drag Radials but last time at the track I couldnt heat them!! 60" 2.34 :bang:
I ended with a 1/4 time of 13.32 @ 109.97 :nonono:

I heard that Jegs and zummit have universal line locks are they cheaper ?
better quality?

Thanks!

Nice goin' posting this thread! Now you'll have to listen to all the SLP haters that are gonna tell you that crappy line lock is for a GM and doesn't belong in these forums. :D

Give your car some extra throttle and a little more brake and you won't need a line lock. :nice:

Hey JM01, at the FFW, I tried to heat my BFG's for the first time and stalled. I started it back up and tried again at a higher RPM. Drop the clutch at 4K and hit the brake. Just watch the rpms while your'e burnning out and stay around 5k. :nice:

Had the same problem TWICE...I didnt try it at higher RPMs
But if it´s true that is fully compatible with the trac control and abs I´ll buy it!
As you can see by my times ....I $uck at the track so I want to make things easier. :D
I WANT A 2.0 OR LOWER 60" !!!!!!!!! :bang:
What is the recommended psi for the BFG drag radials ? I have the 265/40/18

Nice! :nice:
Where did you put the line lock button? do you have pics?
You and primo had great times at FFW :hail2:

I bought the SLP unit right after the FFW in Phoenix mainly because I smoked my clutch real good doing the 4k dump in second. I was really sucking on the burnouts until someone told me about the 4k+ dump. I guess while trying to focus on keeping the RPMS up I rode the clutch a little and major smoke came out of my hood scoop which is opened up. It looked real cool though. Clutch still works ok but I have a McLeod ready to go in.

I don't have any pictures of the lock switch. I haven't mounted it yet. I am still looking for good ideas on it. Right now it a connector setup under the dash where I can unplug the switch when it is not in use.

But that just adds to all the other things I have to remember to do before I go down the track.

Traction control off, back into water box, pull up a couple of feet, pump up brakes while engaging brake lock, 2nd gear dump at 4 k for about 5+ seconds, release lock and continue burnout to make sure the tires are dry and clean, find the damn first staging light, rev up to launch rpm, watch the lights, remember to go when it turns green or preferably just before, shift at 5500 when the yellow shifter light goes on, make sure I don't hit the brake too when I clutch in, and whatever else am I forgetting.
Too many damn things for this rookie to get right. I usually forget a few of those steps and probably forgot to list a few others.

I cant seem to find Deadlurker kicking around, but I'm pretty sure his switch is on the drivers side wall of the center console near the traction control buttons.. Kinda hard to explain.. Theres two walls on the side of the traction control buttons.. the drivers side at about the same hieght. It's not all that noticeable unless ya know it's there and it's easy to reach when needed, and hard to hit when not needed.

I've done a handful of Brake-stands over the past 4 years with my Stang. Last week I found out that my left rear caliper is ceased, and a pin or something is messed up on the other side. I know one of the guys at the Ford shop, and he said that it was from doing brake-stands. So now, after buying a new set of rear calipers, I'm in the market for Line-Loc as well. I've heard a lot of good things about SLP's system, and I think that's what I'm going to buy. I would also like to see some pics of the Switch install as well. My one friend put it beside the Trac-Control button. I've also seen a pic of some one who bought a second switch from ford (trac-control) and have them side by side.

I have a hurst line lock....amazing how easy and fun it is to use. :)

In terms of a switch I believe the hurst line lock comes with a trigger handle which you hold and release when doing the burnout...I wanted a switch so I had a flip switch(that lights up when ON) mounted under my traction control bottom. The flip switch I got was a little flimsy so I recommend not getting a switch with a lot of play.

Next season I want to try some 2nd gear burnouts...in theory it should get my tires spinning more which heats them up more. I was doing first gear burnouts mostly because I had stock gears for the majority of last season but now with the 3.73s I think 2nd gear burnouts will work better for me.
