I have a 2001 cobra with forged internals, long tube headers, off road x pipe, glass pack mufflers, aftermarket throttle body, underdrive pullies, mach 1 cams, ported and polished inake and head, and a JMS chip to tie it all togeather
BUT AFTER ALL THESE HOURS AND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS I ONLY HAVE 207 RWHP ON THE DYNO MACHINE
I KNOW I AM AT 5500FT ABOVE SEA LEVEL, BUT THAT IS NO POWER!!!
ANY IDEAS WHY OR IS THAT NORMAL FOR A 01 COBRA WITH ALL THE BOLT ONS????

I'm not sure of the conversion factor for altitude, but an 01 cobra should put down about 265-270 RHWP bone stock at sea level. You bolt on's should have you in the area of 290-300, with the ported heads and intake I'd think you'd be in the 330+ RWHP range. Even for 5500 feet, 207 RWHP seems really, really low.

Does the dyno seem right? How does the car feel? If you are only putting down 205-207rwhp the car should feel pretty damm slow. I would guess your sotp meter should be able to discriminate 207 rwhp compared to 300rwhp or better. Good luck finding the problem if it is actually the car.

If I'm not mistaken, 01 Cobras were 320 hp stock. 320 X .85 (reasonable drivetrain loss) equals 272 rwhp stock. I'm not an expert, but I question your tune, chip and specifically your timing. I'm running 16 degrees of timing with no detonation and from the professionals I've talked to...more timing equals more power...to a point. I'd look for another tuner or chip, another speed shop and another dyno. Best of luck and regards,

If you have a dragstrip near by, I would take it out and see what you run. Your et will be a decent indication of your horsepower. Tune up on fuel injected cars is everything for power. If the computer isnt working in your favor you wont make power. Check every connection under the hood. Make sure you are firing on all cylinders. If your only firing on 7 your power might be correct. Check to make sure no air is getting in past your mass air meter. This happend to me a while ago on my 88 gt race car. I had a crack in the intake pipe and air was getting in unmetered and I was only putting out 550hp on the dyno. When we found it and fixed it we made 808hp. All because there was a crack in the hose. Assuming the dyno works, sounds like an electronic issue. Also try pulling the chip and see how the car runs. Maybe the chip is shorted out or messed up. Oh yeah, make sure your throttle body is opening up all the way when you push the pedal down to the floor. Sometimes ist some dumb little thing that throws you off. Good luck.

um i think something is seriously wrong. did you lose a cylinder or something? is your car smoking or anything? those numbers are horrible. you have less hp then you did when you were stock...
