What lowering springs are you guys using on ur 99+ stangs?

Im gonna get my girlfriend a set of lowering springs for her 03 v6 mustang for her bday. Im just wondering what you guys recommend? Also will she need a set of caster camber plates to get a correct alignment?

With any lowering springs you guys come up with, can you just let me know how much of a drop it will give?

Thanks alot.

I'm using MAC progressive rate springs. Drop was almost 2 inches. CC plates are needed with them. My ride is still pretty smooth and the drop was what I wanted. More than 2 inches and you're looking at scraping the crap outta the car over speed bumps and driveways and stuff though.

I'm running Steeda as well but with KYB struts from a 93 and back (1" shorter) stiff and some of the daily smooth is gone (watch the coffee). I don't have c/c plates but do have offset rack bushings. I am running 25 3/4 front , and 27 1/4 rear and yes you have to watch the speed bumps. I had eibach sportlines which were great for a daily driver but didn't compliment any of the chassis mods i have done and they became a weak link.

Thanks for all the replies guys...

Well she wants to buy a set of 18inch saleen rims, and lower it. Shes really into the lowered look.. I dont care much for it on my car since i need the weigh transfer. But i think her car will look great once its all said and done. I have talked to a few people with "C" springs which are very happy with them so i think that may be the route i go. I think a 1-1/2 inch drop with 18" rims will look good. You guys agree?

Thanks again

That'll look pretty sweet. :nice: 18's are pretty huge though.

yeah, make sure she's sure about the 18's. i ordered 17's and they sent 18's, so i was psyched a first, but they were WAY to big on my car, so i had them send me the 17's. I think they look pretty good, check out my link below.

DONT buy steeda they are over piced ford C springs.... if you want a 1.25 drop that is noticable but not super low, then go with the FMS c springs cut 3/4 coil on back and leave the top front isolator out (i did perfect drop to have with out scrapin issues) if you want a 1.5 or more for a more clean look then i would get the H&R springs from www.maximummotorsports.com if she has the oem rims.... you should replace them asap check out www.gefracing.com for rim deals that with a drop will look really really good.
