I need a little advice on lowering a 98 Cobra. Im going with Eibach springs but I cant decide between the prokit and sportline. I like the lower look of the sportline but everyone has told me it is to low and to rough riding. Also is Caster / Camber plates a must on this. Ive seen pics of both kits but neither really seems like that significant of a drop. Any help appreciated.

I am having to make the same decision. I was told that I shouldn't need to get the c.c plates unless I go more than 2 inches. I am thinking of going with the sportline, and 18 in saleen wheels. I just put on a set of pro kit springs, with tokico blues, on my 94 t-bird. I know the entire setup is different, but the ride quality was better with the new stuff. Hope this helps. chris

I had sportlines (2") on my 98. Simple install and looked great! As far as the c/c plates, throw on the springs, get it aligned and go from there. I put c/c plates on every stang I lowered, every time I went for alignment the tech told me he got it as close to spec as possible. Im not saying they are useless but I don't think you need them. Maybe if you were road racing and have some crazy setup or running coilovers, other than that I say last resort.

Thanks for the help. Im going with the sportlines if I dont get the camber kit I should be alright I'm assuming. Do any of you have excessive tire wear except for the obvious bald rear tires.

if you mean from running on the different suspension, no. If you get it aligned you shouldn't have any excess wear. It is only if you go any lower you will need to get the plates, because the factory equipment wasn't made to correct such a change in ride height. If you don't get it aligned, the tires wont last to long.
