Anyone ever tried to fit 295/45-18's under the rear of their GT. I've got a 2004.. should be the same measurements (approx) all the way from 1994.

I'm not worried about the wheel well space as much as the fender space. I punched some buttons on the calculator.. it would fit.. BUT it would be extremely close with the front of the fender and the rear of the fender (no problem with the top of the fender - height).. there is a tad more space on between the tire and the rear of the fender well (I suppose for when the axle shifts back during hard launches).. I just don't want to cut it too close.. I'd rather be the dumb one and ask the question FIRST... then if no answer... I'll take the risk and experiment....

Just wondering if anyone has tried it.. as that would be a better answer than the calculator and measure tools are giving me. I've looked all over the net and can't find a thing...

Thanks. -Jase

A 295/45R18 being 28.4 inches in diameter would probably be too tall. A 295/35R18 at 26.1 inches in diameter (just slightly taller than stock) is a better choice. Saleens with the optional wide wheel upgrade run that size. So, assuming you have the right size rim with the proper offset, the 295/35 should fit. I only speak for the rear though.

285/35/zr18

I have a 2001 Gt and i put the Y2K Cobra "R"s on it... i Ordered a 305/35ZR18 Nitto 555 Drag Radial and i mean MANN that tire was huge it did not fit so i have to go with the 285/35ZR18's and they are nice i just wanted wider i also lowered my car 1.5 front 2.0 rear so that was also an issue

I have 295/35's on mine and think they look mean. I always wondered about upgrading to a 305/35 Nitto DR but I guess they won't fit...... :(
Anyway, here are some pics...the rims are 18x10's.
