if your a good driver grab some some Nitto DR's or some Mickey Thompson ET Streets and go at it as is....i bet its possible....but the easiest way to garuntee it....nitrous oxide....100shot....if you can drive you will be better than 13.5 for sure.....

Your not even close to needing a 70MM TB. Get a 65 MAX. You dont even need a new TB w/ that set up anyway, spend your money else were. A 70MM is only needed if you have a power adder, if your N/A then you dont want any bigger then 65

I was gonna say this until I saw this reply first.

Larger TB's are overrated...(like some other large things).
Even stock ones are ok for mild modded cars. If you really want one, than a 65 is fine without a power adder.

Yeh, you should be close. I ran 13.83 at 98.5mph with very similar mods in my heavy 'vert and at 1250'. Given you are from eastern PA, all the tracks I know of out that way are lower so that will help you.

I am not saying that you are wrong, and I know that most knowledgable people in this forum agree with the above statement, but can somebody explain this to me:

In the December 2002 issue of MMandFF they tested a throttle body that is a one size fits all from Ground Pounder Performance Products. It is 75 mm but you can insert sleeves to choose from 65, 70, or leave them out for 75mm. The test car is an 88 5.0 Saleen with TFS heads, Competition Cams roller cam and Valvetrain, a Holley SysteMax intake and fuel system, and 8 psi vortech.
They tested it with and without the supercharger belt attached and here are the results...

Test 1: Non Supercharged oem 60mm TB-226.7hp@5500 rpm 235.8lbs-ft.@4250
Test 2: Non supercharged w/65mm insert and 75mm egr spacer -228.6hp@5500 rpm 241.3lbs.-ft.@4250
Test 3:Non Supercharged w/70mm insert and 75mm egr spacer-231.8hp@5500rpm 242.7ft.-lbs@4250 rpm
Test 4: Non supercharged W/out insert(75mm) and 75mm egr spacer-232hp@5500rpm 243lb.-ft@4250
I wont waste our time with supercharged results because thats not the issue here, but an interesting note is the supercharged set up went way down from the 65mm to the 70mm and 75 mm.
So maybe there is some other reason I dont know about other than increased hp and tq not to go with a bigger TB, and if there is I would like to know so I dont make the mistake of doing it. I am not trying to prove anybody wrong or piss anyone off, I am just baffled by these test results.
What does everyone think?

yea i have a s-trim sittin in my garage but its not goin on for a while so i figured i might as well get the 70mm tb and 77mm mass air, i realize the RPM intake is a lil big for right now too... its just id rather slowly get the parts one time instead of having to rebuy diff stuff later... what would you recommend i buy next to get the best bang for the buck, i dont want nitrous tho.

o and im takin out the smog pump and settin the timing 14* now

Well Rob... you sort of got me... on my 13.83 my trap speed was "only" 98.32, not 98.55. I just got sick of saying it ran 13.83 at 98.32, but went a best MPH of 98.55. I wish I had a dollar for eveytime I listed old combos and times... I'd have my turbo kit by now!!!
