Eleanor also had scoops over the rear windows. QUOTE]

I hope your joking when you said that. If not go Watch the Movie Again !
Nothing on rear window !

I believe that he meant that there were scoops over the location of the rear quarter vents. I assume that we are talking about the more recent Nic Cage version of "60 seconds"; as the original version, Eleanor was a 71-73 era car, iirc.

67-68 Mustangs never had mass produced rear quarter glass and most or all 67-68 Shelbys had the scoops there. The 65-66 shelby GT350s had glass in place of the 2+2's vent louvers, (which is where the 05 gets it's quarter window treatment, but not literally the same part, of course) In 69-70, all mustangs grew small quarter windows behind the side glass that got bigger in 71, 74, changed in 79 to a combo window and vent, 87 went to a blacked out glass treatment, until 94, which were smaller, with a "kick-back" in the rear, to a contiuous curved edge in 99, that pretty much brings us up to date.

The only thing on a production Mustang's rear window of any year have been defrosters from 79 and later (rear wiper option from 79-82) and optional louvers in 1970 (possibly until 73, not sure. 69 sportsroofs did not have a factory louver option.)
No scoops on the back glass, wouldn't make a lot of sense there, visibilty and all...

There's this I did to the old concept...

and this I did to early production pics...

Working on new pics now that ford released them. Gonna use the wheels you guys like, and try using 67' style front and side scoops. Working on showing front and rear quarter views in same shot, lots to do to them. So far lowered suspension, widened tires, lowered front bumper to line up with side rocker panels, changed rear spoiler. Hope to have something to show you this weekend. :D

Eleanor had Edelbrock 454 Wheels. As where to get them, I am sure you can get them directly from them or from any number of automotive part stores and of course, eBay.

Eleanor has PS Engineering GT-40's wheels not Edelbrock 454's. I have 454's on my 68 coupe, and an Eleanor front end. 454's have been discontinued for about 6 months. I barely got a set. People used them for E- clones for cost. The 17in PS Engineering GT-40's rims are much more expensive, but are probably still available. Check out www.Mustangdepot.com

BTW - I can't delete my old attachments here either, or I'd show y'all pics.

here's a thread I started in classic though on my 68 -

wish I could post my most recent pics :bang:

I did some searching to see if I was wrong about the wheels being Edelbrock 454s. I don't think I am though different websites said different things.

If they aren't exact they are very close.

That's the best pic I could find of the PS Engineering GT-40. They are very close too.

Say hello to the next Eleanor! These pics can be butted up next to each other to create a view of front and back at the same time, rear view belongs on the left. I lowered the suspension, widened the tires, used the V6 wheels but sized them up to 18" GT wheels and dished them, color matched the mirror housing and head light bezels, accentuated the power bulge in the hood, added a ducktail spoiler, lowered the front bumper to line up with the side rocker panel and open up more of the lower intake, added side and hood scoops, created modern version of Shelby tail lights, centered driving lights, centered exhaust, added Shelby stripes, added Shelby badging, added billet grill insert and gas cap.

FINALLY!!!

Someone finally got the look right!

I especially like the reworked tail lights, exhaust and grill work!

I'd change the grill to a black chrome personally, but this mock-up is as close to perfection as I've seen anywhere on this forum!!!

Great Job!!! :nice:

ehhhh.........

Wow, I never really liked eleanor that much, but I'm diggin this one. The lighter/regular grill does look better too. the hood is a little too busy for my taste, but damn just look at it. Major props to you man, good work. :nice:

BTW, I've never seen better looking wiper nozzles on a cowl hood :jester:

They do make a nice pair, don't they? :p Glad you guys are digging it, don't know why ford hasn't discovered me yet. Sent them my web site, I'm sure some of their people cruise the various bigger mustang boards and see what's going on.

Granted, a lot of skill went into creating the '05 Eleanor picture but it doesn't look much like Eleanor. The flog lights need to be lower, there needs to be little blue lights by the normal headlights, the hood is totally wrong, the car is missing the side exhaust, and Eleanor is sliver with black stripes, not dark gray with white stripes. I would also shrink the ducktail.
