Hey guys, I'm in the middle of a Turbo Conversion on my 85 Mustang and I'm stuck :bang: on some vacuum hoses and none of the conversions sites really go into detail on the vacuum routing after the conversion. I have a diagram posted here http://www.flemworld.com/MTVD_TMP.jpg of my current vacuum hose route. I numbered the ones I can’t figure out. When I got my turbo motor from the junk yard no vacuum hoses where connected to these so I don't know what to hook them to. If someone could look at their car and match the numbers for me so I can figure this out, I would really appreciate it. The turbo is a IHI turbo from a 88 Turbo Coupe.

Thanks

Thanks Anthony M! :nice:

I understand where they go now, but what function does the vacuum ports on the IC serve?

Also I will be running the stock intercooler to get it up and running but then I will be swapping to a front mount intercooler. The Volvo front mount I have does not have these vacuum fittings.

Should I just bypass those particular ports since the Volvo IC doesn't have them and run directly to the one-way valve and then to the VAC tree? -OR- Do I need to add one in one of the IC pipes? If I need to create two ports on one of the IC pipes which side of the IC does it go on? Also where does the other end of that T fitting just off the VAC tree go? Can I just dump the T and go directly to the VAC tree?

I'm almost there.... Can't wait!

When I got rid of my stock IC (88TC) I simply plugged off the vaccum line that comes from the vac tree to the IC. So Yes, you can get rid of the "T" fitting (the one closest to the tree, colored hot green).

I also capped off the vacuum port on the inlet elbow that lead to the stock IC.

I believe those lines are related to the cruise control, but even after disconnecting them my cruise still works fine. So i dunno
