I was told by the dealer I am going to buy my Saleen from that the Ford standard warranty applies. Which I want to believe is true but a family friend that works at a ford dealer says that Saleen owners have trouble getting their cars fixed through the warranty. He explained it at Ford tries to put it on Saleen and vice versa. Anyone out there want to share any experiences with getting Saleens fixed under warranty? good or bad.

My intercooler gauges went out and the parts were always "backordered" . I guess that was the dealer's way of avoiding the issue. They did repaint the peeling clearcoat on my doors however. Unfortunately, they had to take off the side stripes to do it, which also ended up "backordered". I say mediocre warranty support. Not great, but not horrible either. I just wouldn't trust my car at a dealer...too much temptation for abuse!

So what ended up happening? Did they ever 'get' the parts? Or did you just take care of it yourself?

I ended up ordering the parts myself, since it was like $90.00 in parts...I also didn't trust the Ford dealer to apply the side stripes well, so I was going to do it anyway. They took care of the major issue (peeling clearcoat), and I took care of the minor ones.

Key is to keep the paperwork on the warranty. Saleen goes into great detail what saleen covers ( for 12 month/12000 miles) and what Ford covers on its 3 year 36000 warranty.

My S351 a/c stopped working 2 weeks before the warranty expired and after about 2 days of head scratching Ford acknowledged that they had to replace it AFTER I SHOWED THEM THE WARRANTY PAPERWORK. http://forums.stangnet.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=3741709#

As it turns out Saleen custome bends a couple compressor lines that Ford dealer had done at a local shop.

I think it boils down to how good yur local Saleen dealer is.
