Got tired of the old Twin Turbo setup, trying something new...*PICTURES*

Hey guys, havent posted here much in a while(in this specific section), and just want you guys to see my updated new 5.0 setup. :D

Well she is not finished yet, but is IN PROGRESS.

Have the new engine buttoned up(Shh, its a secret), and am working a new twin turbo setup on her while the engine is out of the car to make my life muchhhh easier. :nice:

Anyhow, this will be my little diary thread, from beginning to end, as a reference to the DIY'selfer, or the daring.

Here is my old setup below, following by the updates of newer pictures as the days go on.

Thanks for VIEWING!
Pete :D

Hmmm...undecided on final location, either in the REAR, middle or closer to the alternator. I have to take more measurements tomorrow for clearance. But it sure does look sweet there. Using old stock headers as temporariy mounting points.

Last one for tonight. Ahh she looks so nice!

Looking nice. Wish I had the money to afford a DIY turbo kit on my car. And I noticed that you have THREE mustangs and all are blown :fuss: share some of the wealth with us poor people.

LOL, trust me, I am broke as well.

College=Money.

Its just much cheaper and better when you do it yourself.

I made my old twin turbo setup for under $1k.

The Notchback turbo setup cost me just about $500.

The Cobra, well that was the most expensive investment.

The new setup is going to cost me nothing($0), as I am just using existing parts, and existing turbos.

So, I just built the motor up, and now its just measuring and cutting and FABRICATION.

Keep you guys updated later today. :nice:

Pete

Thanks Javi!

Quick little update as of tonight.

Just threw on the intake to get final fitting and measurments, and if I might say, it looks VERY SWEET!

Tomorrow I will start on the DRIVER side, but I MUST take more measurments of the brake lines and booster before starting.

I measured shock tower to shock tower and got the width of 34" , 32" being the smallest point.

Overall I have APPROXIMENTALY 27" overall width(with an added aprox measurment of driver side turbo), so I am "good", with the exception of the brake lines which are another 6".

BTW, the pics below are of the complete assembly ready to go, minus the 1" intake SPACER, which is misplaced somewhere.

Anyhow, thats enough, here are the pics. :nice:

I was wondering why occasionally you'll see someone post their email address that way (or in a similar fashion). When I did it on The Corral, everyone told me I was just crazy and paranoid and there was no reason to do it.

I'll check out what I have "in stock" and get in touch w/you. :)
