putting in new parts now i have no power , replaced burnt fuse, new battery, solinoid, voltage regulator, pertronix electric ignition, headers.

worked fine after i put in pertronix, then pulled apart to put on headers, battery had a crack next to post so i replaced it, car runs, i have the coli on its own wiring, fuse and toggle switch, so i jumped the solinoid and she runs, but no juice to ignition, lights etc. so i replaced the voltage regulator since i had not replaced that before. but i still have no juice, please help.

ps. the reason i have the coil on its own system is because the fuse for the coil on the fuse panel is missing the metal clip if you know where to get fuse panel or parts for them let me know

thanks,

Kurt

usually with selinoid and battery more juice is getting around. check ground wires and wires to starter on engine. possibly the extra juice caused a corroding cable to break and or get worse.

happened to my 71. new selinoid broke starter cable, new cable broke starter, now everything is doing okay.

I will take a shot at it. Did you check the fuseable link wires that are hooked on to the solenoid. They are there to protect the wiring in the car. If you have a short they burn out. I know if you try and jump start the car and touch the cables wrong they blow..... :nonono:
The fuse panel comes with the main dash wiring harness I believe. Most of the classic mustang parts places have them. Not cheap.
Also check the wires from the alternator over to the starter solenoid too. I think there is a fuseable link in those too??
